About Me

Hi, my name is Andrea and I am an Ofsted registered childminder based in St Albans. I offer a warm, friendly and welcoming home-from-home environment where children can feel happy, safe and settled.

I genuinely love working with children and enjoy making our days fun, varied and engaging. We spend lots of time playing, learning and being creative, as well as getting outdoors whenever we can. Our days can include arts and crafts, messy play, stories, music, walks, trips to local parks and plenty of activities inspired by each child’s individual interests.

My aim is to create a relaxed and caring environment where every child feels comfortable, included and part of our family, while having plenty of opportunities to learn, explore and simply enjoy being a child

My Experience

I have been an Ofsted registered childminder for around 9 years and have experience caring for children across a wide range of ages, from babies and toddlers through to school-age children.

I have a strong understanding of the EYFS and support children’s learning and development naturally through play, everyday experiences and activities suited to their age, stage of development and individual interests. I am also experienced in caring for siblings and children of different ages together.

For school-age children, I currently provide drop-offs and collections at Oakwood Primary School in St Albans.

I believe that good communication and a trusting relationship with parents are an important part of providing great childcare. I want parents to feel confident that their child is safe, happy, well cared for and enjoying their time with me.

My Qualifications

I am a qualified teacher with a university degree and a strong educational background. I also hold a Level 3 Home-Based Childcare qualification and am an Ofsted registered childminder.

Over the years, I have completed a wide range of additional childcare and Early Years training, including Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding and many other courses covering children’s development, learning, health, safety and wellbeing.

I regularly update my knowledge and undertake further training to ensure that the care I provide reflects current Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements and good practice.

My Availability

I am available Monday to Thursday, from 7:00am to 7:00pm.

I offer full-day childcare, as well as school drop-offs and collections from Oakwood Primary School in St Albans.
