Hello, thank you for looking at my profile. My name is Christine Owens. I am 49 years old. I live with my husband Daniel, our son Mikey and our daughters Rebecca and Jennifer who are both over 18. I have been happily childminding for 22 years and am registered with the CIW. I live in the Parc Gwernfadog area. I offer home from home childcare in a welcoming, fun, caring and safe environment
My Experience
I have been a registered childminder for 22 years and have had children in my care from newborn.
I provide childcare in a warm and welcoming home with plenty of room with a range of toys, games, puzzles and everything needed for a childs development. I provide lots of activities such as arts & craft, music time, story time, role play on a daily basis. I take the children on regular trips to the library, beach, a variety of local parks,our favourite being Margam Park. I have a lovely out door play area for all ages. I provide a daily diary to keep parents updated on daily activities. I aim to provide a very warm, caring, full of fun atmosphere in a home from home environment and encourage good communication with parents at all times.

My 3 year old son has been with Christine since he was 8 months old and I couldn't have chosen anyone better to care for him.
I found that Christine has become a part of our family over the years, and I can't wait for my youngest to start with her next year.
Christine has so much love for my son which I adore about her. She makes sure that he has the best quality of time with her by doing lots of activities, reading and going out for trips to the park or local beaches.
His development has exceeded our expectations and I believe that was largely down to being in a homely environment with Christine and a smaller group of children who have taught him to be the best version of himself.

I can't recommend Christine enough, when looking for a childcare setting for my little boy I wasn't sure what we wanted, we visited numerous places and nothing made me feel comfortable. The minute we worked into Christine's home we felt at ease.
My little boy thoroughly enjoyed his time at Christine's and was made to feel like part of their family. Christine, Her husband and children treated Isaac like he was one of their own.
I rave about Christine to anyone looking for a childminder, and when I speak about everything she did and does people are astonished. In my opinion she really is the best.
Isaac had so many fantastic days out, memories, milestones, and came home with the loveliest art for us regularly. Christine always toke great interest in Isaacs development and skills, making sure to tailor her activities around Isaac.
When my boy went fulltime we were all very sad to see him leave Christine's care, but she still continues to check in and I think this shows the level of care and compassion she shows all the children and without a doubt if I had another I wouldnt hesitate to call Christine again. What gives Christine that extra special touch is she isn't just a childminder but a friend too, and that's exactly what we didn't know we needed.

The best childminder.
We have taken all of our 4 children to Christine across many many years.
The trust we have for her.
More importantly it’s the children they absolutely love going to Christine.
She treats them all with so much love.
From the many outside activities they go to such as margam park, beaches and play grounds.
Or the activities they do at Christines. everything here is truly amazing !

I used Christine in 2015/2016 for my older 2 children off a recommendation.. and when I had my younger 2 I knew that I wanted them to go with her too. They’ve been there since the end of 2019 now and they absolutely love it. Christine is amazing with them, and so are her husband and daughters, and they really are treated as if their part of the family. They have a huge selection of toys to play, they do such a wide range of activities their always learning something new and trying new foods and trips to new parks.
I honestly couldn’t recommend Christine enough!

From the moment I met Christine I just knew I could trust her to look after our little girl. I had previously looked at nurseries but didn’t have a good feel about them- meeting Christine felt right! She made me feel at ease leaving Cerys when I had to return to work. She is caring and loving and treats Cerys as if she were her own daughter! Christine and her family are lovely, and their house is spotlessly clean!
I love the way Christine takes the children outdoors to different parks and beaches- from Margam to Mumbles! Cerys has made some beautiful craft and cakes to bring home.
I speak Welsh at home with Cerys and Christine always makes an effort to incorporate Welsh into activities - which is brilliant!
Christine’s communication is fantastic and we even have pictures of the fun activities they have done!
Christine is an amazing childminder and we feel very lucky to have her.
