Poor experience

Bethany was appointed as a part time nanny to look after our toddler son, as a long term post. When she joined us, she said that she was going to look into another part time post, to compliment with ours'. However, within a few weeks of starting the post, she gave her notice letter, saying that she had already accepted a full time post.

She had a 4 weeks notice period. She told our son, that she was leaving him, well ahead of this 4 weeks period. This was done without discussing with us and without our permission. He was very upset to hear the news and reacted badly, with increased tantrums. After a few days, instead of supporting him through the upcoming difficult period, she went on sick leave with 'work related stress and anxiety', when we didn't agree for immediate termination. Plus, she wouldn't even show us the actual sick note from her GP!

Bethany's profile says that she is trained in behaviour management, more than once. I certainly didn't see this being put to use at all. In fact, when she herself had created the distress and the 'behavioural issues', she didn't take the responsibility to tackle it. I found her highly unreliable and unprofessional. If looking after and helping an otherwise normal child, makes her anxious and stressed out, she certainly is in the wrong profession! I didn't employ her to mess up my son and to leave him helpless, like this!

This is unfortunately quite false. The child in question was incredibly violent to the point where i need surgery to correct an injury. While i cared for the child and the family i couldnt continue to put myself in danger and had to leave. I did provide the parents with two copies of the sick note and had to explain on numerous occasions that they have no legal right to have the original as the government states that it my property and need it to protect myself. I did offer an opportunity for a viewing of the original next to the copy to put their minds at ease, but this was rejected.
The child overheard the parents and me discussing leaving and then asked me where i was going, i didnt lie. I did apologise for this when the parent confronted me. The child was incredibly violent and as discussed with the parent, and initially agreed to; often through no fault of the adult or the child, some people just dont fit together and me continuing could continue to put the child under distress.

No show for pre-arranged meetings - 3 times!

Rhiannon is highly non reliable. She has been very slow (a few days) in responding to any messages sent to her (both text messages & via. the website). We finally managed to arrange to meet up with her with a view to offer a nanny post, after managing to have an initial phone discussion. For the first appointment, she pulled out with a short notice of one and hours. For the second meeting, I received an apology the day after that! The 3rd meeting was arranged subsequently, with nearly a week in advance. No show again, despite a reminder sent to her mobile no! What a surprise! I am yet to receive any apology or an excuse or reason for this, even after 10 days!!! What a time waster.......
