Karis was nanny to our son Bertie for six months from when he was one year old to 18 months, she joined us when I was going back to work full time (August 2025 – February 2026).

Karis is genuinely the best thing that happened to our family and especially our son. On a practical level Karis is incredibly punctual, proactive, has excellent communication when setting plans in place or checking anything that might be changing. Very competent and professional. Karis cooked for Bertie, helped with washing up and cleaning for Bertie related things (as well as general tidying and cleaning in the kitchen and Bertie's bedroom that we definitely didn't expect her to do). Karis took Bertie to play groups, to local parks, museums, art galleries, and walks around the local area. Karis would take him to the supermarket and stock up on supplies for him. Karis taught Bertie to eat new foods - flavours, textures - and how to chew. She is an incredible cook and often batch cooked at the end of the week so there's an amazing supply for the weekend. Karis taught Bertie sign language to help him communicate while he couldn’t speak yet. She encouraged him to dance and sing. They had great fun painting at home and playing with toys. Bertie loves reading and she very kindly bought new books and encouraged this passion of his. Karis often stayed late and would do the bedtime routine with him (bath, massage, book etc). Karis has helped him make friends in the local parks and play groups and has been invaluable for me as a very nervous first time helping me understand and nurture developmental steps as well as just enjoy being a mother more than I was when I was doing it on my own. She is incredibly knowledgeable and would offer advice that was invaluable, Karis knew Bertie so well she was able to guide me through changes that I would otherwise have been ignorant about and spent a lot of time googling to find less good answers than Karis had.

Karis is very kind, very positive, calm, fun and generous. Karis is thoughtful, empathetic and trushworthy. I really enjoy being in Karis' company.

She is like family to us now and I am incredibly sad to no longer see her every day. Any family who gets to work with Karis will be very lucky and I honestly cannot speak highly of her enough.
