About Me
Hi my name is Tracy. I am an Ofsted registered childminder in Aldershot offering a warm, home from home setting for children to feel welcome, safe and happy with space to grow, explore and build independence.
I live with my partner, who works away for part of the year as an HGV driver, and although my adult daughter lives in Somerset, she visits regularly and is very much part of our family life.
I have 2 pets - a cat called Gizmo who has grown up with the children in my care and a snake called Tails who is a source of curiosity to the little ones, and who is also housed safely in a locked vivarium.
I am passionate about childcare and love to see the children in my care develop and learn through play. Developing a strong relationship with parents is very important to me as I feel it helps the child thrive.
I take the children on trips out such as, playgroups, softplay, libraries and parks to encourage socializing whilst also offering lots of craft activities to explore and learn, and a variety of toys to develop skills and have fun.
I use Baby'sDays and WhatsApp for communicating with my families.
My Experience
I have worked in childcare for over 25 years, mainly in nurseries and I have a good understanding of child development and needs. I supported children aged 6months to 5 years during those many years and enjoyed every minute of that time. It taught me how important it is for children to feel safe, listened too whilst following routines and manners. Helping to bring out the uniqueness of each child, and building a trusting relationship, is something I still feel lucky to be part of.
I spent 3 years working at a pre-school being the 1-1 support for SEN children, as well as being a parent to a child with additional needs. This has helped me to nurture in a more individual way to help the child, with or without needs, whilst also supporting the parents.
Since 2019, I have been an independent childminder, initially working alongside another childminder in their home until they left the profession. I enjoy my job much more as a childminder as it feels so much more personal.
I regularly update my training so I can offer the best possible care, supporting their development and wellbeing.
