My Experience

My Experience

I have worked with children for over 30 years, across a wide variety of childcare settings, and have been running my own childminding business for 8 years.

My experience includes working with babies, toddlers and preschool children, as well as supporting children with additional needs.

I hold a Level 3 Early Years Childcare and Education qualification and continue to undertake regular training to ensure my knowledge remains current.

I am also a Designated Safeguarding Lead, with current paediatric first aid training and training in food hygiene, healthy eating, behaviour management and the Early Years Foundation Stage

Learning Through Play

Every child is different, so I don’t believe in a “one size fits all” approach.

I observe children’s interests, abilities and individual needs and use these to plan activities that encourage them to develop at their own pace.

Whether we’re:

Getting creative
Sharing stories
Exploring and problem solving
Playing outside
Singing and dancing
Exploring nature
Getting messy
Talking, asking questions and learning together

…the children are learning all the time — without it feeling like learning.


A Home From Home

One of the things parents often tell me they love about my setting is the warm and homely atmosphere.

I want children to feel comfortable enough to be themselves, make friends, express their feelings and know that they are listened to.

We have simple house rules based around being kind, sharing, caring about other people’s feelings and treating each other with respect.


Our Outdoor Adventures

We make the most of our outdoor space and enjoy getting outside whenever we can.

Outdoor play gives children fantastic opportunities to develop their confidence, physical skills, independence and understanding of the world around them.


Babies & Younger Children

I have experience caring for babies and young children and understand how important those first years are.

I work closely with parents to maintain familiar routines around sleep, food, comfort and development, helping children feel secure while they are away from home.

• Childminding from £6.50 per hour

Hourly rate £6.50 and all early years funding accepted
