My family were unfortunate enough to come across Karen.
We were left so concerned following a string of unexplained incidents and safeguarding issues that we have since reported her to ofsted to investigate.
My child had a large mysterious bruise that was unexplained. It certainly wasn't there at drop off.
I was lied to about the wearabouts of my child. Karen deems it acceptable to take young children out for a walk in the blistering heat without adequate sun shade and then lied to me about it.
I raised concerns that my child wasn't made to feel welcome by others in the setting and I certainly saw a different side to Karen who became very rude and defensive.
How ironic that according to your profile you claim to have completed a number of courses. Yet struggle to get the basics of childminding right.
Looking at the other scathing review it's apparent I'm not the only parent left with serious concerns!

Good Evening 'Hello_86',
Thank-you for taking the time to leave a review for me. Unfortunately, as I have never interacted with your profile before and you have chosen to use an anonymous name I am unable to respond to your claims specifically.
I pride myself on my now 10 years of childminding and welcoming every child who I have the privilege of caring for like they are part of our family. I look forward to inviting any potential new customers to my setting to form their own real-life opinions, not rely on claims hidden behind anonymity. However, I am fully booked for the next two years. If my circumstances change or a space opens up unexpectedly, I will update my profile with availability.
My daughter was with this childminder for 2.5 months. October 2024 - During this she was constantly sent home "unwell" then not unwell when home. We was never updated on any playgroup addresses. My daughter had a packed lunch to which she said she wasn't allowed foods within that packed lunch. She was made to feel uncomfortable by other children within the setting and not addressed when mentioned to childminder. In the 2.5 months I had 1 lot of photos sent through. On 5 occasions sent home with a full nappy.

Devon, many thanks for your review, I appreciate you taking the time to outline your perceived grievances. I think it is only fair that I address these to clear up some inaccuracies in your complaint.
• Your request for playgroup addresses was responded to within the space of 4 hours.
• No food was ever withheld from your child – any leftovers from packed lunches are sent home so parents can see what has / has not been consumed.
• The only complaint regarding other children that you voiced to me was received on the day you withdrew her from my care following her needing early collection due to illness. I addressed your concerns regarding this via message shortly afterwards.
• In the 2 months your child attended you received over 80 photographs of our various outings and activities. These included trips to the theatre, parks, playgroups, the library, the Hindu temple, plus multiple from my house and garden where we enjoyed planting Spring bulbs, playing in our mud kitchen, on the swings, seesaw and feeding ducks at the country park.
• I encouraged and supported your child during her short time with us to become familiar with potty training as I do with any child who is able to communicate their self-care needs. I check each child’s nappy routinely throughout the day and again shortly before their usual collection time and change as required. If you had concerns regarding the fullness of her nappy it would have been much more beneficial of you to address these with me whilst she was still in my care so I could work with you to overcome the issue.
I hope I have addressed all of your concerns and that your daughter is continuing to grow into the confident, funny, inquisitive and inspiring young lady we thoroughly enjoyed welcoming at our setting. She is still talked about amongst her little friends here and we will miss watching her develop further, we wish you all the best. Many thanks.
