About Me
We now have some full day spaces available & will have more spaces becoming available from August 2024 when some children leave us to start school.
We are Mother Hubbards Childcare & are Ofsted registered mother & daughter childminders.
I co-childmind with my mother, Lin Hubbard.
We maintained our Good grade at our most recent Ofsted inspection.
We care for children in my home, where I live with my husband & 3 children.
We live on the Bridles Estate near to Potash Road/Norsey road.
We have a secure back garden where we grow lots of vegetables with the children. We have a large patio with many outdoor toys and encourage the children to spend as much time outside as they would like.
We temporarily worked together when I was moving home & it worked so well that we carried on co-childminding.
We used to work from Lin’s home but have recently moved to mine.
I have been childminding for nearly 15 years, Lin for over 34 years & working together for 13 years.
Lin has 3 grown up children. I have a 15 year old daughter who attends Mayflower High School and 7 & 5 year old sons who attend Buttsbury Junior & Infant schools.
We care for children between the ages of 6 months to 12 years. We can take children to & from Buttsbury Infant & Junior schools.
We have a wide variety of toys for both indoor & outdoor play including many musical instruments. We also have a large amount of art & craft activities, childrens baking equipment & actively encourage each child to be creative.
The children really enjoy having lots of water play in the garden. We have paddling pools, water tables & sand pits etc.
Because of our location in a quiet road we often have wildlife come into the garden & the children also enjoy using binoculars to spot squirrels etc on the large oak trees nearby.
We have a nature box which includes a variety of bug pots, magnifying glasses, binoculars & flash cards to find smaller creatures hidden in the garden.
We are happy to provide all children in our care with healthy snacks & drinks. We prepare home cooked meals for the children if required.
We can also provide occasional weekend childcare.
My Experience
I have been childminding for nearly 15 years, Lin for over 34 years and we have been working together for 13 years.
We care for children between the ages of 6 months and 12 years, so it works perfectly that one childminder can play with the younger children, whilst the other can be doing activities with the older ones or preparing home cooked meals.

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.00 per hour
We do not charge for outings.
We are registered with & can accept:
- The Government Tax-Free Childcare scheme
- The new entitlement for working parents of 2 year olds
- The new entitlement for working parents of 9 month olds (from September 2024)
- Funded Early Education Entitlement Payments for 2 year olds
- Funded Early Education Entitlement Payments for 3-4 year olds

Lin and Michelle have been absolutely amazing with our son. From the minute we met them both we felt reassured that he would be well looked after under their care. Since he has been going to Lin and Michelle's, we have had beautiful paintings, seasonal decorations and delicious cakes! He loves going to their house every day, enjoys playing outside in the huge garden with the other children. As parents, we feel the communication and flexibility they offer has been efficient and so positive. They have helped us to establish a nap routine and have been really supportive with anything we ask of them. Can't recommend this duo childminding team enough! Thank you Lin and Michelle. Michelle has looked after my 11 year old before and after school since he started Reception during which time she has also taken on his younger brother and joined forces with her mum Lin. Over the last seven years we feel that we have become part of their extended family - Michelle and Lin are very much regarded as an honorary aunt by both boys! After school they are kept busy with arts and crafts projects, cake decorating, trips to the park, playing in the garden and occasionally just having some "chill time". During vacations Michelle and Lin offer a wide range of activities and often take them out and about to local parks and places like Barleylands. As a mum I find Michelle and Lin to be totally reliable and trustworthy. They flag any concerns - conversations that they think I need to know about, boys being quieter than normal!! - and I know that my kids are being looked after by people who genuinely love them. Knowing that my boys are being so well cared for means I carry on work without worrying about whether they are ok or not - some nights I literally have to drag them away from Michelle and Lin's to take them home with me. I have no hesitation in recommending them both - the only reason our eldest son is leaving is because he is moving onto Secondary School, Lin & Michelle get to keep the younger one for another two years - lucky things!!

Michelle and Lin are brilliant childminders who have looked after our son since he was 6 months old. He loves going to their house and really enjoys the environment they've created there, so much so that I really feel it's like his second home. I can't recommend them highly enough.
