Hi! My name is Carissa you can call me Riss for short, as my students before call me. I am from Philippines but currently living in Europe. I am 37 years old and married. I grew up in Cavite which is an hour drive to Manila the capital of Philippines. I am a childcarer/tutor. When I was in Philippines I worked as a teacher assistant for 3 years and been part of kid's early years development. I always have the passion to teach young ones, so that's why when I arrived in London I looked for a job where I can enjoy and at the same time help other people. They said being with young children is very tiring since they have more energy and more active. But for me it's a pleasure, especially when i'm seeing their daily progress under my guidance. I would love to give more and help them to improve themselves further.
My Experience
I started my very first career in 2009 and worked as a Teacher Assistant for a private school in Philippines for 3 years. As a teacher assistant it’s my responsibility to assist in developing lesson plans based on state requirements and the specific needs of each child, collaborate with teachers to monitor the development of each child, understand the teacher’s routine when it comes to delivering a lesson plan and running the class in the event that the teacher is absent on a particular day, work with children in the classroom to promote their learning and development, communicate with parents and keep them informed about their child’s development and any changes to the regular day-to-day schedule. With all the knowledge I got from working at school it helped me a lot to get a job in London where I worked as a child carer and a tutor for toddlers. Since then, I have loved my career and continuously helping children with their further development and progress.

First Aid Certificate and TOEFL certificate. I am willing to get a DBS check

Riss has looked after my two boys for the last few months and I cannot recommend her more highly. She is incredibly kind and well organised, trustworthy, willing to help and effective at her job. She encouraged the boys to try lots of different healthy foods and is a great cook. They had so much fun and I would often come home from work to hear them laughing together. She is brilliant at coming up with games and activities to keep them busy. Riss also looked after my youngest while he had chicken pox and was wonderful with him. I’d be very happy to provide a reference by phone or in writing to anyone thinking of employing Carissa. She is one of the best nannies I have employed.
