My Summary

My Experience

I started to work in the childcare field as a volunteer at ST Augustine’s centre in Halifax. Here I worked with the age range children 3-4. I helped to care for nursery and pre-school children and to prepare and provide stimulating activities around the areas of learning. I also prepared and served healthy snacks and helped out in backing activities. In addition I helped in the running of the crèche where children were left in the stimulating environment so parents can go to ESOL classes. I worked with children age range of 6 months-3 years in the crèche. Children were encouraged to take part in various activities and their feeding requirements were met, e.g. babies drank milk and had baby food as for older children they had toast and bread sticks etc. At present moment I am working in the various Sure Start centres where I care for children age range 3-4 years old. I help to plan and provide activities and keep records for children like observations and learning journeys. I have taken part in planning meeting where I have shared my ideas and thoughts towards long term planning, medium and short term planning. I continued on with my work in the children care field where I was the managing the crèche services, part of my role was organising staff to cover the crèche, interlinking with parents and providing suitable and safe environment .This was Thornton Lodge in Huddersfield. I have also have worked as a midday supervisor at Warley Road primary school where I looked after children in the age range of 5-11 years old. Part of my job role here I provided outdoor play equipment and activities and manage a class of children indoors when the weather is not good. I also encourage children to eat their dinner and to tidy up after themselves.

20th April 2012- Level 2 in food safety in catering
