Jayne cared for our daughter from early 2023 until late 2025, and we have been very happy with the care she provided.
When our daughter joined Jayne, she was around 18 months old and finding it difficult to settle in a nursery environment. Jayne provided a supportive and nurturing setting that helped her thrive. During her time there, she enjoyed a wide range of activities, including outdoor play, crafts, educational games, and regular opportunities to socialize with other children.
Jayne also supported several important stages of our daughter's development, including communication skills, early learning, and potty training. She always kept us informed and worked closely with us to ensure consistency between home and childcare.
We found Jayne to be reliable, professional, and flexible, and she consistently provided a safe and positive environment. Even after our daughter started school, she continued to enjoy spending time with Jayne during school holidays.
We would not hesitate to recommend Jayne to other parents looking for a caring and experienced childminder.

We wanted to share our experience with Jayne, which has been overwhelmingly positive. As first-time parents, finding someone we could completely trust with our daughter was incredibly important, and Jayne has given us that confidence from the very beginning.
Our daughter started with Jayne at 11 months old and is now 16 months old, attending four full days a week. From the outset, Jayne’s professionalism, experience, and guidance were invaluable. She helped us establish good routines and created a warm, caring, home-from-home environment where our daughter has clearly thrived.
Jayne regularly takes the children to parks, playgroups, and other activities, and even when the weather is poor, she makes sure they remain engaged and entertained with suitable indoor outings and activities. It is clear that she puts a great deal of thought and care into the children’s daily experiences.
Our daughter absolutely loves going to Jayne’s. She greets her with a huge smile each morning and is always happy, settled, and well cared for when we collect her. Since being in Jayne’s care, we have noticed real progress in her confidence, independent play, social interaction with other children, eating habits, and sleep routine.
We have also never had any concerns regarding food or care. Our daughter eats well with Jayne and always comes home content. Jayne has also encouraged age-appropriate independence, such as allowing our daughter to feed herself more, which has been both thoughtful and beneficial for her development.
Throughout our time with her, we have found Jayne to be caring, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in the wellbeing and development of the children in her care.
As a family without a local support network, Jayne’s support has meant a great deal to us. We are extremely grateful for the care she continues to provide and would not hesitate to recommend her to other parents.
We think that the terrible review that was left recently is completely unfair and doesn't give a true picture of Jayne's services. So we feel it is important to share our experience for anyone considering childcare with Jayne.

As a parent whose son has been in Jayne’s care since April 2025, I was utterly upset and shocked to read the review that was recently posted.
This is a complete and utterly false interpretation of Jayne and the wonderful environment she provides. To be quite honest, it proves to me that there are some people out there who just cannot help themselves, and the issues clearly lie with the mother’s own expectations rather than the exceptional care Jayne delivers.
My son absolutely loves being at Jayne's and is looked after extremely well. Since he started over a year ago, I have seen nothing but a warm, stimulating, and incredibly nurturing environment.
Jayne is a highly experienced professional who is straightforward and honest—traits that any parent should value when trusting someone with their child.
The claims in the negative review could not be further from my reality:
Stimulation & Activities: The reviewer claims the children are "stuck in one room," yet my son regularly enjoys fantastic days out, including trips to RHS Bridgewater and plenty of engaging activities.
The "Quiet" Accusation: The critique regarding Jayne's son working nights is entirely blown out of proportion. Jayne herself openly told the mother that her son explicitly said not to worry and to let the kids make noise. It is a shame that a single moment of standard, polite boundary-setting was twisted into a claim that the children aren't allowed to express themselves.
Food & Routines: Suggesting Jayne doesn't bother with the children or their development is absurd. Jayne works tirelessly to establish healthy boundaries and routines that help children thrive socially and behaviorally.
It is incredibly unfair to try and damage the reputation of a dedicated childminder who has successfully cared for children for 20 years, based on a mere three-week stint where the parent simply didn't want to adapt to a professional setting.
Jayne does this job because she is brilliant at it and truly cares for the children. I couldn't be happier with the care my son receives, and I would highly recommend her to any parent looking for a safe, loving, and expert childminder.

Jayne/April 5 looked after my son, Dylan who always looked forward to his time there.
My daughter also spent time with Jayne who had never left my side before and she literally never even looked back walking into Jayne’s house.
One of the main things I look for in a childminder is someone who will look after my children as if they were their own and I feel that Jayne always does and is like an extended part of our family.
Her house is very well equipped and a safe space and my children enjoyed the activities they did with Jayne too.
I’d highly recommend April 5/Jayne and if we ever come back to the area we’ll certainly be in touch.

April 5 has been childminding my daughter almost 4 years since September 2016. She looks after her 5 days in the week.
I have been extremely happy with the care Natalia has received, and the great progress he has made whilst in April 5 care. April 5 home is always welcoming, clean and well organised and my child has great fun playing with the other children in her care. She provides a wide, fun range of activities including plenty of outdoor exercise.
I would absolutely recommend April 5 as a excellent and reliable childminder.

April 5 currently looks after my son and a fantastic job she does, she is very caring and makes it very easy to leave my child in her care. Right from day one April 5 has been accommodating to my shift work and always try's to help when it's needed. He has learnt a lot from her and really enjoys his activities that he does whilst there. The mums and tots group that he attends whilst in her care is fantastic and he gets so much enjoyment from attending. Could not recommend April 5 enough.
