Hi, I’m Kim and I am 38, and I’m mummy to my two daughters aged 9 and 13 and have worked in childcare for 8 years. I am proud to offer a warm, inviting and nurturing home from home environment where children can be happy, safe and feel settled whilst they learn and explore.
I like my home to be a cosy, welcoming environment for children. I have a lovely selection of toys and resources, lots of arts and crafts, and a cosy reading area. I also have a large back garden with toys, a mud kitchen, bikes, sand and water play, swings and slide, fruit trees, and a fruit and vegetable growing area.
We go out regularly to explore and learn with an emphasis on connection with nature and encouraging natural curiosity about the world around us. Sometimes we meet for a play date with other childminders, sometimes a wander to the park or the library. I regularly plan trips to other fun places like Upton country park, Poole park, and the Oceanarium in Bournemouth for example.
I track the childrens development and log this using an online app called babysdays which allows parents to log in securely and see photos of their child’s day, nap times and nappy changes, and termly progress reports with some ideas for next steps that we are working towards on the child’s learning journey.
I also have a dog, he's a cavalier King Charles spaniel and has been raised as part of my family and is very friendly.
I am located in Maclean road in Bournemouth,BH11 8EL, which is not far from wallisdown/bear cross/Kinson.
My Experience
As well as being a mum of two, I've 8 years experience working in the childcare industry. I work closely with other childminders, meaning the children can benefit from both a smaller home from home setting with me and also larger group gatherings and outings too with lots of friends.
My Qualifications
Cache level 3 qualified early years educator
Cache Level 3 course “Home based childcare”
Enhanced DBS completed and update service registered.
Paediatric first aid trained
Level 3 safeguarding
Level 2 food safety and hygiene
Prevent duty trained
I also attend other regular training courses to enable me to continue to expand my knowledge and remain up to date with current recommendations and legislation.
My Availability
I am currently full. Booking for September 2024 onwards.
I am open Monday to Friday 7:30-6pm. I offer both term time only and full time contracts with a minimum of 2 days a week.

Leaving your children in childcare is always difficult, that’s why is very important to find one you can trust, and Kim is amazing childminder, fully dedicated to her profession. She does it with passion and kids love her.
Always very kind, happy, friendly, calm, supportive and very helpful.
We went for a chat and my little one settled in straight away. Very happy we found her.
I definitely would recommend her with all my heart ❤️

My son started going to Kim's when he was 10 months old, he is now 7 but still loves to go to there in the holidays when we need help. I cannot recommend Kim enough, she truly is a fantastic childminder, she is so kind and caring and does such fun activities with the children and always keeps them safe. My son absolutely loves Kim and her family, they all made him feel so welcome, he has so many great memories from his time with Kim and has also made some great friends along the way. If your looking for a home from home environment for your little one then Kim's is perfect. I always feel so lucky that I found Kim, she has been amazing for our family and I'm so grateful to her for making my son's early years so special and memorable.

We were recommended Kim by a friend when we were struggling to find a childminder who could accommodate our 15month old twins. Kim's setting is a lovely home from home environment where my two have settled in so well. They love going to Kim's and get excited when we pull up outside. As my two currently only do 1 day a week I was concerned on how well and quickly they would settle, but they've exceeded expectations and after only a few sessions, we had no tears at drop off or pick up. My two were excited to see me but also show me what they had been playing with. They've settled in to Kim's so well and I truly believe that this is down to Kim's experience, her kindness and how much fun they have. I'm so unbelievably happy we found Kim and I can't wait until our twins are able to go more often so that they can adapt, grow and learn even more 💕

After struggling to find childcare for my 2yo daughter, I was so happy to meet Kim. What started out as a temporary setting before nursery, ended up being a 2 year arrangement before school! My daughter always asked to see Kim and the friends she had made whilst there. I cannot recommend highly enough.

Trying to find childcare for my 2nd was a little bit more tricky, with my first she took to a nursery setting straight away no problems. My 2nd wasn't too keen after taking her to work with me, someone suggested a childminder, I was recommended to speak to Kim and I've not looked back since, my little girl is thriving in Kim's care, she still socialises with other children and gets all the care and attention! Our little girl has formed a lovely bond with Kim! Not just myself but our close family have seen just how much Kim has done for our little one!! If you are looking for a lovely, caring, calm natured childminder then Kim is the one for you!!!
