About Me

My name is Louisa Nutt, I am 44 years old, and I live in wells with my fiance and two sons (15 & 9)

Before becoming an ofsted registered childminder I worked as a supervisor in a residential home for the elderly, and before this I worked for a family looking after their three children aged from 3 months - 10 years old.

I strongly believe that children learn best through play. I offer the children lots of different activities to cater to their individual age/stage of development. I am very passionate about using the outdoors as a learning environment and carry out many forest school activities. As well as this, I regularly take the children to toddler groups and soft play. I work closely with another childminder who shares my passion for outdoor learning and we take our children on many outdoor adventures, our children have developed lovely friendships and we are available to offer cover for sickness/holidays.

I have recently (2026) qualified as an early years SENCO, this will ensure that my setting is fully inclusive to all children.

I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage, and each child has an online daily diary to ensure that I work in partnership with parents and that parents are aware of their childs day with me.

I live in a three bedroom house in a quiet area in the beautiful city of Wells. I have an enclosed back garden which the children have access to daily, equipped with many outdoor toys such as sand and water play.

I offer the children lots of sensory and messy play activities, arts and crafts, and cooking alongside freeplay with lots of different resources.

Children in my care enjoyed a relaxed, homely environment with an abundance of opportunities for outdoor play. We go out daily and take our learning with us. We regularly use the natural environment and local areas to carry out craft activities. I take the children out daily, whether it's a trip to the Bishops Palace, Wells Cathedral, local parks, or our local soft play centre, "The Square," for which I have a membership.

louisa has looked after our now 13 month old since a very young age.

we would highly recommend her as professional /caring and trustworthy.

our son enjoys he's time there and learnt many new things in he's time with her.
