My Requirements

We are seeking a live-in tutor/mentor for our two children (ages 10 and 12) based in Verbier, Switzerland from 5 January to 1 July 2026.
The children will be enrolled full-time in school, so the role is part-time and combines 6–8 hours/week of academic tutoring (British curriculum) with ad hoc childcare and overnight cover when we travel. We are looking for a warm, responsible candidate who is fluent in English and French, comfortable living with a family, and ideally a confident skier.

Key points:

Dates: 5 Jan – 1 Jul 2026

Hours: ~15–20 hrs/week (including prep and childcare)

Duties: Academic support; homework help; French conversation; evening babysitting; occasional overnights

Requirements: UK curriculum experience; fluent French; DBS + Swiss casier judiciaire; excellent references; confident skier

Summary

Core Responsibilities

Academic (6–8 hrs/week)

Tutor English, maths, and general study skills aligned with the UK curriculum.

Provide French conversation practice.

Oversee homework and help structure assignments.

Liaise with teachers as appropriate.

Track progress and adjust support weekly.

Childcare (flexible, ~4–6 hrs/week + overnights as needed)

After-school support, school pick-ups, meal supervision.

Manage bedtime routines when parents are away.

Occasional overnight care (planned in advance).

Encourage independence, good habits, and confidence.

Enrichment / Outdoor Activities

Skiing on weekends or after school (ability to ski confidently is important).

Organise creative or active activities.

Support French immersion through games, outings, and conversation.
