Hello families, my name is Jess. I have been a nanny for 8 years, I am an easy going, friendly, reliable, caring, genuine, trustworthy and enthusiastic. I have always wanted to work with children, I enjoy nurturing their curiosity and creativity, and helping them to learn and explore the world as they grow into their own wonderful little personalities. I strive to create a close bond with a family, being a part of your children’s early lives means it’s important to have a great relationship with everyone in the family. I have my own car and love to to go out every day to local parks, play groups, messy plays, libraries, farms and anywhere else that’s fun!
I have developed a nannying style that is largely influence by positive/attachment/gentle parenting. My focus is on teaching children kindness, understanding and respect, through modelling behaviour, patience and positivity.
I live in Sydenham, and I enjoy a range of hobbies including reading and walking my Great Dane! I am a huge animal lover, any pets you have will be bonus extra charges! I also have an interest in photography and am slowly figuring out how to use my camera properly!
My Experience
I have 8 years of experience of working with children from newborn, to 8 years old.
May 2013 - July 2015: My first family I cared for autistic twin girls from the age of 4 to nearly 7. This was a wonderful opportunity that allowed me to gain some experience with extra needs, and although challenging at times, was an incredibly rewarding role.
Jan 2014 - Feb 2015: In January 2014, I took on my first sole charge, a 3-month old baby girl. In October 2014 her sister arrived. As their mother was able to work from home during the maternity period both girls became my charge, until their father was made redundant and he decided to stay home to be their primary caregiver.
Sep 2015 - Sep 2017: In September 2015 I became a nanny for a 15-month old girl, and before/after school, and in school holidays, her older sister, who was 6 when I started.
Sep 2016 - Present: In September 2016 I started working with a 5 month old baby girl. In May 2018 her baby sister arrived. I currently work with this family 5 days per week.
March 2018 - Sep 2018: in March 2018 I took on a second part time role, with a boy aged 1 and a girl aged 3, who was at nursery full time. I was unfortunately only with them for 6 months as the parents decided it was financially better for them to have both children in full time nursery. I still babysit occasionally.
Sep 2018 - Sep 2020: In Sep 2018 I started another part time role of 2 days per week looking after a then 11 month old, and before/after nursery/school and holiday care for her older sister who was then 4. I still see them regularly and do babysitting and some weekend days!

- Diploma of Higher Education in Psychology
