I am a calm, confident and compassionate nanny with a career in childcare spanning 25 years. I CURRENTLY WORK FULL TIME AS A NANNY WITH A 2 YEAR OLD; PROXY PARENTING FOR SEVERAL DAYS AT A TIME. I AM THEREFORE ONLY AVAILABLE FOR OCCASIONAL BABYSITTING.
This means I may have ad-hoc days/weekends where I can be available to care for your child/children at your home or at an event; for example - looking after your little ones at your home while you attend an event, or entertaining them at the event if you take them with you, or perhaps offering a listening service at a hotel, so you can enjoy the facilities while your children sleep under my watchful eye.

I am nurturing, enthusiastic and have a positive and encouraging manner. From my roles with children with additional needs, I have honed my patience, resourcefulness and ability to adapt. I believe that good manners, respect and learning to be responsible are core foundations for building successful adult lives; and can be achieved through routines and structured activities, which create fun and varied learning environments.
Always influenced by the child’s enjoyment, interests and inquisitive mind, I naturally include early years learning into our time together and follow spontaneous learning opportunities as they occur.
My Experience
I qualified as a Nanny in 1998 and have worked in a variety of childcare settings since. These include family homes, a pre school, a junior school and my own home as an ofsted registered childminder.
In my early career, I was a nanny share with three children under the age of 2 years. While childminding I cared for children between 1-10 years, raised two of my own and then worked as a teaching assistant for six years, covering ages 7-11 years.
Three of those six years I worked with a child with special needs and used Makaton sign language as the main form of communication.
In August 2016, I returned to Nannying to assist an injured mother to continue caring for her 2year old in Knaresborough. In December 2016 I joined a new family of four children, which soon became five, as a full time sole charge nanny/housekeeper/house manager/proxy parent in Easingwold.
Their youngest child started school in September 2021 so I moved on that December.
January 2022 to January 2023 I worked with many different families; to support those with multiple children after birth of new baby, to assist families visiting the UK on holiday or caring for babies/children on site while their parents attend weddings; alongside returning to my Knaresborough family to care for their newborn and now 7year old.
My Qualifications
I have an NNEB diploma in nursery nursing. I have consistently held first aid certification my whole adult life, with my most recent training in paediatric first aid.
I am fully insured and DBS checked (which is also on the update service and is re checked annually)
I can assist with light housekeeping tasks in addition to childcare, however the children are always my priority.

- Babysitting from £15.00 per hour
£15 per hour until midnight
£10 per hour from midnight to 6am
