About Me
I am a single mother to three children - 14, 12 and 8 and work full-time, largely from home. Based in Dulwich, London.
As a working, single parent with a demanding job sometimes the home structure and routine is lost and the kids run circles around me! I am looking for adult support to make sure they get what they need and the time I get with them is meaningful and quality time rather than me trying to do all household and meal tasks while trying to be with them and half-work!
Main tasks would be to collect my 8 yo (Judith Kerr) Mon, Tues and Thurs and check my 12 and 14 year olds get home. Take the kids to various activities and have engaging activities for them at home - they are relatively independent but I do (try to in any case) have a no screens policy from Monday to Thursday.
I’d like help with the children’s clothing and laundry, sorting and tidying toys (getting them to do this in a structured way) and cooking family meals. Reading newsletters and managing a shared calendar, making sure I am reminded about upcoming school events is a must.
As I work from home, if I have an afternoon of no meetings, I will tend to step in to go to an activity with them so you would have to be comfortable with flexibility and that things change. Meals and laundry would always be needed.
The children are w their father Weds and every other weekend so this is why only the days I have listed.
I am looking for someone to start immediately as am currently managing alone. I can also wait for the right person so don’t let that stop you reaching out.
My Requirements
My children are very happy, engaging and energetic people who love to do things. The kids are not push overs, they can negotiate and are smart and like challenge, so you need to be confident and firm. We are an all hands on deck kind of family and I would like someone who can get involved. My children have had great relationships with adults who are clear, strict and take no nonsense and this is what would be best for us. Ideally someone older - you don’t need to be physically very active - but a sharp mind will honestly
Fluent English is a must.
