My Summary

My Experience

I have been working as a childminder in Glasgow for the past 9 years. In my various roles I have been responsible for many facets of the children’s daily life. For example in one setting I was employed to collect the little ones from school and nursery, travelling home with them, taking care of dinner and play activities until their parents returned in the evening. In another my job was caring for a five year old boy with significant medical requirements, Here I have gained experience working with special medical needs and visual impairment, previous to this I worked for a larger family for full days with three young children and independently entertained, fed and cared for them in the family home. In other roles I have worked with the kids academically to complete homework, build interest, confidence and communication skills. Recently I’ve been finding lots of joy in working with my youngest clients in the early toddler stages, cuddles and bottles, nappy changes and bedtime routines. In the course of my studies I have completed two teaching placements in primary schools in the role of drama teacher. I have taught workshops for 12-15 year olds at the royal conservatoire and have regularly looked after babies and toddlers right through to young teens. I have volunteered as an English teacher, classroom assistant, drama coordinator and private tutor. I have experience looking after young people from having facilitated and run drama lessons and workshops in a high school and independently run a creche at the BUZZCUT festival. I also have experience from volunteering as a scouts leader which involved the care, education and entertainment of children each Tuesday evening for around a year. I also over three consecutive years spent a week each summer helping to facilitate an outreach camp for 11-14 year olds. I have parent references and previous background checks available alongside a record of relevant certifications and am always happy to update any further background checks or specific training at parents request. I consider myself to be overall an enthusiastic and fun person when working with young people.

• Babysitting from £14.00 per hour

Fees Negotiatable
Depending on distance it may be reasonable to have a travelling cost allowance.
I look to be paid roughly the living wage- Currently £12.50
