About Me

Hello, my name is Jessica, I have over 6 years experience as a secondary science teacher teaching Biology to A level and Chemistry to GCSE level. I have also marked for Aqa and Edexcel both for Primary Science papers, GCSE biology and A level Biology so have an excellent knowledge of the exam specification and how to be successful.
I currently work at a local secondary grammar school and I am looking for some tuition work to enable me to use my teaching skills in a more one-on-one environment.
I have completed tuition work regularly over the years and have tutored for GCSE level Biology, A level Biology, GCSE combined science and GCSE maths. I have also tutored for SATs as well in the past.

My Experience

I have been a teacher of science in a local grammar school teaching A level and GCSE Biology and Chemistry as well as Physics to KS3. Working as a teacher has helped me to develop communication skills as well as an ability to motivate students and accommodate for special educational needs.
I have done tuition for multiple years with various students from SATs tuition for year 5/6 students through to A level biology.
I have also worked as an examiner for multiple exam boards helping to build my knowledge of the specification and how to gain marks.

My Qualifications

I achieved 13 GCSEs and 3 A levels in Biology, Chemistry and English literature. I have also achieved a masters of Biomedical Science in Biomedical Science from the university of York.
I gained a PGDE - Post graduate diploma in education from Sheffield Hallam university.

My Availability

Evening sessions for tuition.
