About Me
We are a team of two Montessori teachers who are fun, patient and believe in child centred learning. We have been working in Children's Education for over 8 years.
We have endless ideas to interest and inspire young minds. We love creating new topics and activities for the children!
We love the outdoors and make frequent trips to various locations in Somerset.
Our setting is called Little Montessori House with Siobhan and Petra. It is run from Siobhan's house on Wembdon Road, Bridgwater.
My Experience
Siobhan has a certificate in Montessori education for ages 0-6 (equivalent to a level three in child care) from the Bournemouth Montessori Centre.
Petra has a similar qualification which she completed in France (and is therefore fluent in French!). We have worked in several Nurseries with a variety of children and ages. We worked together in a Montessori School in Clevedon, with children aged 2 to 5, from 2011 to summer 2014.
Siobhan has also worked in a secondary school with all boys, for 3 years. It is a boarding school so I worked in the evening with them as a house parent, this has given me a lot of experience with looking after children in a home environment. During the day I worked with a mix of children, including children with Special needs, I did a lot of one to one work with them.
For two years I worked with a volunteer group called Promise, with this I mentor a young girl with social and emotional difficulties. We built up a strong relationship and I have supported her during the time she was fostered.
Petra also ran her own Montessori childcare in Clevedon for a year which was very successful.
My Qualifications
Siobhan has a BSc Degree in Psychology from the University of Plymouth. This year (2023) Siobhan has also gone on to further her education by completing an MEd in Teaching with Montessori.
We are qualified Montessori teachers for ages 0 to 6 (equivalent to level 3 child care).
We have up to date child protection qualifications.
We have up to date paediatric first aid.
We have up to datehealth and hygiene qualifications.
