About Me
I have been self employed registered chilminder now for over 14 years. I have worked in childcare for over 35 years, working in children’s day care and nurseries. I came back to childminding from my own home as it is where my heart lay. I am a parent of 3 children and 3 grandchildren 4 grandchild on the way and we can’t wait. My husband and son are both my category 2 assistants. We are registered for allowing us to have 8 children.
My Experience
I have childminded children for over 35 years. I have references from all my parents past and present. I am a mother to a 37 year old son, 23 year old son and daughter of 21. I'm a grandmother to three beautiful girls. I am one of a family of 13 children and have over 40 nieces and nephews so I've grown up with children all my life.
I have experience of children from birth up to beyond teenage. Toddlers in my care are helped with learning their alphabet and also the phonics form, they will know their shapes, numbers, colours, days of week and months of the year. We learn about seasons and special days.
We have loads of toys, puzzles and games for all ages. We get out and about everyday, weather permitting, to local parks, beach, forest and farms, etc. On not so nice days it's indoor play, library, baking buns, face painting and arts and crafts which go down a treat with the kids. At the end of the day when it's home time they have learnt something new.

My Qualifications
I have my certificates in FIRST AID, HEALTH AND SAFETY AND SAFE GUARDING CHILDREN. FOOD AND HYGIENE. MAKATON 1 & 2. HELPING CHILDREN TALK. Children with Dyslexia. Supporting Children’s Social and Emotional Behaviour in Early Years Setting (5-12years). Nutrition and oral health in early years. Solihull Approach (Early Years Foundation Stage Solihull Appoarch Training)
My Availability
I work Monday to Friday during the hours of 8.30am till 6pm. I can provide Pick up and drop off at school.
My Fees
- Childminding from £6.00 per hour
Morning rate/afternoon rate £25
Half day from 12pm £30
Full day £45
Pick up fees if outside Portstewart
