About Me
I am an ofsted registered childminder in Histon. I have been working as a childminder for 5 years, I have 2 boys (7 and 9) currently in Histon Park and Brook schools and 1 cat.
My priority is to build positive relationships with the children and their families. Establishing good communication, working with the family to fulfil the needs of a growing, evolving child and family!
I place high value on the child’s emotional, social development and their connection to the world around them. Encouraging conversation between them and others in the setting, establishing relationships across all ages. I give opportunities to engage with the local community through playgroups, community cafes, library visits and playing at the park.
I believe in establishing a good routine for the children, to encourage good eating and sleeping habits. As part of the routine I read to the children every day and include a wide variety of non fiction and fiction books. It also includes time for undirected play where children can establish their own sense of play. I allow the children to explore their own interests and will orientate days around what they connect with, we recently made a Frozen palace, with snow and dress up.
Music is a big part of the setting, whether it is required to calm the children and help focus, or singing to motivate help eat lunch! I love music and play a wide variety. We get creative at least once a week, making potions with the wildflowers or painting cardboard rainbows. We have fun exploring colour and texture.
I love exploring nature and wild spaces, observing the changing of the seasons and creatures in our environment. We get out as much as possible, and connect with our local environment.
I can provide lunch which involves, pasta, scrambled egg, cheese, olives. I work with the families to provide a healthy food, whilst accommodating the family and child’s needs.

Becky is like part of the family to our two boys and although our eldest walks himself to and from school these days they both speak very highly of her. H says 'Becky gives us the space to play but if we ask for something she always says yes'! Quoting a ten-year old possibly isn't the best approach but i know what he means: Becky listens and endeavours to find a way. She is a lovely person and I couldn't recommend her more highly.

Becky has been looking after our daughter for over three years now, from the age of one, and we cannot understate how invaluable she has been to us. Even with the additional challenge of numerous allergies, Becky has always gone the extra mile to accommodate us, always reliable, and most importantly adored by our little girl. A warm and sensitive nature, Becky clearly enjoys her job. We are very grateful we found her and would wholeheartedly recommend her services.

Becky quickly and confidently helped us with our tantruming two year old son, at the time she was an utter godsend. She provided a warm happy safe stimulating home for him to be part of and seemingly, effortlessly, established a routine which helped to settle him. Could not recommend Becky more highly.

Becky has been looking after our toddler for about 9 months. Our daughter settled in with Becky very quickly at the start and has been happy going to her ever since. Becky has a very kind and caring manner with children and she has endless patience. Our daughter takes part in a range of creative activities each week whilst she is with Becky. She also sleeps and eats better at Becky's than she does at home! I would highly recommend Becky as a childminder and I'm so pleased that we know her.

Becky has been Danny's and Tom's childminder for 4 years now. She looked after Danny for three days a week before he started school in 2020 and since then she has looked after both Danny (now 7) and Tom (now 10) after school on two or three evenings a week. I have never been anything less than incredibly impressed by, and appreciative of, Becky as a childminder.
She seems to have a natural affinity with children of all ages. She engages children by listening to them and also through her creativity and imagination. She is also conscious of what to expect from them, how to challenge them (in terms of development), and how to patiently and positively manage behaviour where necessary.
I love that my boys come back from Becky's talking about activities such as Hama bead patterns, football games, baking biscuits, treasure hunts, drawings and shows, in addition to the obviously appealing Wii competitions.
My boys have benefitted enormously from spending time with Becky, beyond the practical necessity of looking after and feeding them while we are at work.
