About Me
An extremely kind and caring individual with the patience of a saint when children are involved!!!! Being the second eldest of six, I have many years’ experience of interaction with children of all ages. Additionally, my mother was a registered childminder so our house was always full of young children of varying ages. As a consequence, I adopted a very maternal and nurturing personality from an early age.
In a previous character assessment exercise some of the following qualities were identified: caring, kind, tactful, patient, passionate, affectionate, considerate, responsible, respected and trusted.
My Experience
After 12 years of working as an Executive Assistant I decided that I would like a change of career in order to seek greater job satisfaction. I studied Health and Social Care at college and having always loved being around children, I took the decision to seek employment within the childcare profession.
Having taken this decision, I started out working at a school for children with severe special needs which I absolutely loved and gained invaluable experience over a great spectrum of different children and varying needs. I then became a nanny, looking after 2 children, boy (5) who has downs syndrome and girl (4) for almost 2 years. Due to the youngest starting school and my partner and I moving house, I then worked for another family who have twins with cerebral palsy. I worked with them for over 2 years until I left to have my own daughter.
During my Health and Social Care AVCE I was fortunate to have many work placements which provided me with a good insight into the caring environment i.e. TACT, a company who assists vulnerable individuals to re-establish themselves back into the community having been institutionalised, West Hill school who supports children with learning disabilities and Flying Start Nursery.
My previous work experience in a corporate environment has helped me develop into a hugely organised, efficient and sociable person, able to assist colleagues at all levels and ensure achievement of goals and targets.

Double Advanced Vocational Certificate of Eduction - Health and Social Care
OVCR Intermediate & Advanced Certificate - text processing, word processing, audio transcript, document presentations, mail merge
OCR Level 1 & 2 - book keeping and accountancy
Key skills level 2 & 3 - communications, working with others, improve own learning and performance, information technology
A level - Sociology
GCSE - 11 A* - C
My Availability
I am looking for something whilst my daughter (who has just turned 3) is at nursery on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Her nursery is term time only but happy to take her with me in the holidays if need be.
