About Me
Hi my name is Mary, I am a 49 year old Mom to 3 beautiful children aged between 9 and 23. I have been an Ofsted registered Childminder for 21yrs, prior to that I worked as Specialist Teaching Assistant in various school settings. I love being a Childminder and having the opportunity to expand those creative little minds and watch their personalities grow. I am very passionate about all children being given the chance to reach their full potential in a safe, happy, nurturing environment so that they are confident and ready to begin their journey through school.
My Experience
My 30yrs working as a Childcare professional has given me a wide range of experience, I began as a Teaching Assistant working in Early Years, I then worked in a number of SEN schools all having varied needs including profound deafness, emotional and behavioural disorders, autism and general learning difficulties. From there I worked in a Catholic primary school until I left to have my eldest Daughter. After a short break, and another baby I began my career as a Childminder and to date have cared for over 45 children. I also helped set up and ran a playgroup for a few years. I thoroughly enjoy what I do and I get great job satisfaction in knowing the children in my care are safe and happy and their parents can relax and not worry while they are at work.
My Qualifications
Btec National Diploma in Childcare Services ( Nursery Nursing ), Level 4 Specialist Teaching Assistant qualification, Playworker qualification, Cache Level 3 in Childminding Practice, Cache Level 3 in Childcare Services.
I have completed various courses to continue my professional development: Paediatric infant & Child First Aid Level 3, DSL, Child Protection, Prevent, Schemas, EYFS training.
My Availability
I have 1 full time vacancy avaliable, My working day usually begins at 7:30 am until 5:30 pm but I am prepared to be a bit flexible.
My Fees
- Childminding from £5.00 per hour
My fees are worked out on an hourly rate, half a day rate or full day rate.
My Local Schools
- I provide drop offs and pick ups at St Ambrose Barlow Catholic Primary School
- I provide pick ups at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Primary School (NC)

My daughter has been going to Mary’s for almost 4months now and she loves it ! I can honestly say I feel totally comfortable and relaxed when she’s in Mary’s care as I know she looks after her like one of her own. My daughter has a dairy allergy which Mary has managed brilliantly and there’s never been any issues. She’s friendly, approachable and always happy to help, I often say I wouldn’t have felt comfortable to go back to work if I hadn’t found her.

My 19 month old has been with Mary for 12 months now. He looks forward to his days with Mary and the other children. Having struggled with anxiety, I found the thought of leaving my little boy with someone else exceptionally hard but Mary made the whole situation so much easier. Communication is always brilliant and I know my son is getting the very best possible.

My daughter has been looked after by Mary since the beginning of the year. I can describe it, no better than a home from home for my daughter. As all parents I was super anxious about sending my daughter into childcare, however from the minute I met Mary I felt relaxed. My daughter goes for 4 days per week and I couldn’t wish for a better setting for her, she has come on so much. Mary takes the children out regularly and does lots of activities with them, including for all the special occasions which is a lovely touch, especially when we receive some arts and crafts from our little one. I feel incredibly lucky to have found Mary, it is like sending my daughter to a member of the family.

My little girl has been with Mary for nearly 18 months now. Mary is a caring and experienced childminder. My daughter loves to go and she has the opportunity to learn whilst in Mary's care. My daughter has made lots of progress in her speech and general development during her time with her and I would highly recommend to other parents looking for a home from home setting

My daughter has been looked after by Mary for nearly 3 years now and I couldn’t wish for a better setting for her. The interactions she has with both Mary and the other children are wonderful and she always comes home telling me stories of activities they have done and places they have been. Mary has been instrumental in her development, ensuring that she has strong foundations before starting school and has really helped her to flourish. Mary has a wealth of knowledge of EYFS and child development and has supported us with all milestones. Would recommend to anyone!

Mary is professional, motherly, warm, fun, and firm when she needs to be; she is definitely the queen of glitter and art &craft.
Both my daughters, now 10 and 6 years old, had been in her care for many years since young toddler/ baby age, and I can highly recommend her services to any parent who needs a great, long-term childminder.
Mary is organised, she prepares resources for the children according to their needs and ages, she takes them out to playgroups and parks, she creates memories with them.
Mary always goes big in decorating the playroom for all the special occasions during the year. We always take out the girls' beautiful art & craft and proudly display it at Christmas or Easter and it means a lot to the girls, who can still remember all the fun times they had with Mary.

My twin daughters have been looked after by Mary since they were about 1.5y old and now they are +3y. Mary is a very good and experienced childminder and the girls enjoy their time “at Mary’s house”. Mary has been very helpful with helping us go through and understand some of their behavioural milestones. The girls also enjoy playing with the other children at Mary's and they have become good friends, they talk about them all the time, even at weekends and during holidays. I strongly recommend Mary to other parents looking for a childminder.
