About Me
Hi, I'm Clair Smith, Ofsted graded Outstanding (2024 & 2018) I live with my husband and our 3 sons on Oakwood Avenue, Flanshaw Park, Wakefield. I became a registered childminder in 2001 and had a break when my twins were born. I absolutely love my vocation and I'm passionate about early years education.
My home is safe, secure and welcoming, a real family feel throughout. With a dedicated room for play and free flow throughout the entire ground floor, children can choose where to spend their time. My outdoor space has been carefully planned to enable me to deliver the EYFS both indoors & out. We balance our time in the setting & out and about in the community.
The outcomes for children in my care have been judged outstanding. I am privileged in my role, caring for babies and children and work hard to bring out the best in each child, preparing them for school & beyond. The children in my care feel loved, respected and safe.
My Experience
24 yrs experience as a childminder.
I grew up as the daughter of a childminder from a large family. I am a qualified Teaching Assistant and in my role as a childminder have undertaken many courses to further my knowledge in Early Years Education/Family Support.
I am Ofsted registered, dbs checked, I hold public liability insurance, a level 2 food hygiene certificate, a level 3 first aid qualification, a level 3 safeguarding qualification.
