About Me
Hi everyone! My names Maia Mischke and I am currently working as a midwife in Woolwich and Lewisham. I’m looking for part time nanny hours/babysitting however due to my work schedule I will not be able to commit to set times each work as my work schedule changes from week to week. I would like to get to know a family and offer evening babysitting and occasional childcare. I love getting involved in activities and pride myself in creating fun and interactive environments for children where they can thrive, develop and most importantly enjoy themselves.
My Experience
I have previously worked in tarnerland nursery in my home town Brighton as part of my work experience for school where I learned how to handle difficult situations whilst also being responsible for a large group of children. I have also carried out work experience in the Royal Sussex County Hospital in the Paediatric ward working closely with the nurses and shadowing their daily tasks. Although I do not have a childcare degree, I have studied health and social care for four years so I am very familiar with childcare standards and I would like to say caring for young children comes naturally! I also have a younger sister so have been caring for her for all of my adult life. I have previously been with 4 families and 6 children all between the ages of 1 and 9. I completed by DBS check for my course and have basic first aid training such as resuscitation which I have learnt along side my course. Throughout my training I have cared for numerous newborns and participated in newborn resuscitation so I also have experience caring for newborns. For new mothers, I am able to provide breastfeeding support if required and help facilitate healthy infant feeding! Please get in touch if you would like to arrange a meeting or have any questions!
