About Me
We have three lovely girls (9, 8 and 6) who walk to school next door from our cider farm in Leweston near Sherborne. We both work full time and struggle to find the capacity to absorb the girls' energy and help them to sort out their stuff when they get home from school whilst also running the farm and another business. We love proper food and try to eat together as a family. We're outdoorsy and the girls love crafting and adventuring.
My Requirements
We are looking for someone to start work in September for approx 16hrs a week. This would be 2pm-6pm for 4 days a week Mon-Thurs, though we can be flexible.
We both work full time and feel we aren't giving our girls enough of our time and attention. We're looking for a third pair of hands at home to help deal with the usual family chaos of school bags, laundry, cooking and putting things away where they belong. The girls are a delight when they have attention and guidance to look after their own stuff, but will scatter things everywhere when unsupervised. We're looking for someone to be fun with them but also be on top of them to help teach them to tidy up and help around the house. Hours are up for discussion but the plan would be for you to do housework and prepare dinner whilst they come home from school. Get them fed with us parents either joining in or not, and repack school bags for the next day if needed. Manage children's laundry and help them to take responsibility for putting it away in their bedrooms. Wash children's bedsheets monthly or as required.
In holidays we're open to suggestions but we could do the same routine, or keep the same weekly hours condensed to 2 full days, or potentially increase the hours.
You would have sole charge - we're very happy stepping back to leave you in charge and not be in the way. Once we get used to each others' styles we'll probably all end up chipping in together, e.g. homework night whilst repacking dirty sports kit whilst doing dinner whilst tidying up a bedroom.
We need you to be Ofsted registered for tax free childcare payments and to have your own car. Ideally you'll be super organised, a decent cook, fun and flexible!
Please message if interested and we can arrange an interview/playdate where we can get to know each other and discuss hours/days and employment details such as your references, annual leave and pay.
