About Me

I Hello, I’m a childminder based in Tarvin, where I live with my husband and children.

I’m proud to be the only childminder based in Tarvin, offering families in our local community a warm, caring and home childcare environment.

With over 30 years’ experience working with children, including nannying and childminding, I have a wealth of experience caring for children from babies through to secondary age. I welcome children from 3 months old to school age, providing a nurturing environment where they can feel safe, secure, happy and valued.

I hold a B-Tec National Diploma in Nursery Nursing and a BSc (Hons) in Midwifery, as well as Paediatric First Aid (updated every 3yrs) and Safeguarding training with Cheshire West and Chester Council (updated every 2yrs). My experience and professional background have given me a strong understanding of children’s individual needs, wellbeing and development, especially the care of babies and younger children.

I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), tailoring each child’s learning and development to their individual needs, interests, abilities and stage of development. I believe children learn best through play, exploration and meaningful experiences. Through child-led and adult-supported play, I encourage children to develop confidence, independence, communication, problem-solving skills and positive relationships with others.

The children’s safety, wellbeing and happiness are always my priority. I provide a caring and inclusive environment where every child is listened to, valued and supported as an individual. I also believe in building positive relationships with parents and working together to support their child’s wellbeing, learning and development.

I make the most of both my home environment and the wider community, enjoying plenty of outdoor play and opportunities to explore and learn. We visit local parks, attend childminder events and enjoy daily trips to places such as Chester Zoo, Eureka, The Ice Cream Farm, Delamere Forest and Mini Magoos music and movement classes.

I also offer funded childcare places, making quality, nurturing childcare accessible to eligible families.

Alongside my childminding, I offer a babysitting service, providing families with a reliable and caring childcare option when they need an extra helping hand at home.
