My Requirements

We are mainly interested to talk to people who want to do wrap around care (drop off and pick-up until 6pm). Although in the holidays we’d need whole days, we can cover some days ourselves, so we don’t need full time. We are happy for a combination – very willing to discuss options and preferences. We are looking for either 5 days a week, or could do part time with the help of another nanny as well (we have someone who is interested in a couple of days a week if needed).

Milly is seven and has special needs. She has global developmental delay and in particular she has speech and language delay - Milly does not talk yet, although we think she is starting to say her first words. She communicates through behaviour, making noises and can use some signs. She is very happy and content, and lovely to be around and look after - everyone loves her!

Milly is a very enthusiastic eater, and eats everything! However she does not yet reliably feed herself, and so needs help. She’s still in nappies as well.

Would be lovely if the Nanny either knows Makaton or is willing to learn.

Milly attends Woolgrove School in Letchworth Mon-Fri, 9-3 (9-2 on Fridays). She may be moving to Castle or Linton, but probably not for another year or so. School is about 30 mins away from us.

In the afternoons, Milly finishes school at 3 pm (apart from Fridays, when it’s 2 pm) and eats at around 4.30/5pm. We would like to make sure Milly has a chance to recover after her day at school - she can be quite tired in the afternoons so she doesn't need lots of outings arranged, (though some are fine!). She really loves being outside and so being in the garden, finding a playground or something similar, or even just watching a bit of CBeebies would be something she’d really enjoy as a way to relax after school.

Milly really values social interaction with other children, and so in the holidays we would like the Nanny to find opportunities for Milly to play with her friends. We would like the nanny to arrange play dates with her school friends and other children that she can form long-term relationships with. Milly also loves water play and swimming.

Milly really enjoys spending time outside on playgrounds, and we take her to days out like Shepreth, Willows activity farm, going to visit different playgrounds e.g. around Cambridge.
