About Me
My name is Christella, I have lived in our lovely terrace house in Wealdstone for 20 years with my husband of 30 years we have four children and now also have a grandchild which we love to be hands on with. We love children a lot, we feel that they really brighten the place up and bring a lot of joy. I miss my children living at home and being young , so its always nice to have a house with children in .
I feel that childminding is not a job, its more of a vocation. We also have 2 lovely cats, and we love animals. My hobbies include art, cooking, gardening and cycling. I understand how difficult it can be raising a family and working too, so I try my hardest to make it easy for the parents as I know they have a lot to juggle with. I will often send photos to the parent so they can see what their child is doing in the day and how happy they are, which can reassure you especially if you have just gone back to work, sometimes it can be worse for the parent! I try to be as flexible as possible. Its very much a family home, with sometimes my children popping in and loving to see the children I look after and play with them. They end up seeing them as uncles and Aunties. My mum pops over too they end up calling her nanny as she is known to most children. She comes over to see the children mostly. So its home from home for the children.
In the week we have a schedule, we go mostly to local places like toddler groups, library, parks, soft play areas or get together with other childminders which is great fun for the children to get to play with others and different toys. The children have the whole of the downstairs to play in with a large kitchen where we eat in. We also have a large enclosed garden with play equipment in.
We do lots of learning, it depends on what age the children are but from babies, we do counting, colours, numbers and singing. I like to make learning fun for them.
Best part of being a childminder having fun with the children, hearing them laughing and seeing them happy

My Experience
I have been a registered childminder for 20 years. I have always had a love for children. From the age of 13 I have been involved with looking after children. I used to help run a creche, I have 4 of my own children, I used to help look after my sisters 4 children before I had my own. I worked for a school as a dinner lady. I used to be a teachers assistant in a first and middle school.I am very interested in children's emotional well being.I have studied childrens emotional health and learnt a lot.
I run a group in Harrow for parents of older children with emotional difficulties, to help parents understand how best to support their child.
I can do school runs too. The local schools are Whitefriars and Marlborough. I may consider Belmont as thats not too far either.
My Qualifications
I have completed the childminding course that is required by ofsted
I have completed the first aid course and keep my refreshers up to date.
I have also done the safeguarding course
My Availability
I am available from 6am to 7pm or can be flexible if necessary, just give me a call for a chat and we can arrange for you to pop over and see my setting.

Christella is a wonderful, caring and kind person. My daughter stared when she was 7 months old and 4 years later she still loves going there: playing with the cats, drawing, cooking, playing in the garden and visiting toddler groups.

Christella is great with the children, all three of them love to go to her. They love the different activities - playing in her house and garden, going out to playgroups or doing crafts such as decorating biscuits. She is also very accommodating and flexible, which is very helpful as my working days and hours change every week.
