It is difficult to put into words just how wonderful Maheen is and how much she means to our family. She previously look after our eldest daughter, now seven, and currently looks after our youngest, who is three. Both our girls absolutely adore her and her family, and so do we. We truly consider her part of our family! We couldn’t feel more confident and happy entrusting our children to her care.

Maheen has given both our girls the most wonderful start in life. She combines the highest standards of professionalism with an incredibly warm, loving and nurturing home-from-home environment. She is kind, patient, thoughtful and fully committed to the children in her care. Above all, we have always felt that our girls are completely safe, secure, loved and listened to.

What makes Maheen so exceptional is how much more she offers beyond this. She has a wonderful philosophy towards early childhood, recognising the importance of play and allowing children to be children. She has created an outstanding setting in her home, full of opportunities for child-led, imaginative and creative play and learning. She strikes a perfect balance between providing stimulating, enriching experiences and giving children the freedom, space and downtime they need.

One of the things that particularly drew us to Maheen was her love of nature and the outdoors, something she has instilled in both our daughters. She goes above and beyond to provide an extraordinary variety of experiences and days out – from farms, beaches, parks and National Trust properties, to animal encounters, library visits and playgroups. Her activities are thoughtfully planned to spark curiosity and encourage exploration. She places great importance on fresh air, physical activity and creativity, making every week wonderfully varied and enriching.

Maheen is also an exceptional cook. She prepares delicious, nutritious, home-cooked meals and encourages the children to explore different foods and flavours. Mealtimes are happy, sociable occasions, and she supports the children in developing independence and good table manners.

This thoughtful approach extends to every aspect of their development. Whether supporting potty training, encouraging them to put on their own shoes and coats, or helping them learn to share with their friends, Maheen is always patient, encouraging and supportive.

Equally importantly, she nurtures their emotional development, kindness, friendships and social skills. Her setting offers the security of a close-knit little group of children, while she also regularly meets with other childminders to give them opportunities to play and socialise in larger groups. Our eldest daughter often still fondly talks about the friends she made and her time at Maheen’s.

Maheen is a wonderful role model. She teaches kindness, consideration and respect not just through words but through her actions and the warmth she demonstrates every day. At the same time, she is firm but fair, sets clear and consistent boundaries, and has high expectations for behaviour.

Maheen doesn’t simply look after children – she invests in them, celebrates their achievements, supports them when they find things more difficult, takes pride in their progress, and genuinely cares. She has helped shape both our girls into the happy, confident and kind children we believe them to be.

We honestly cannot recommend Maheen highly enough. She is an outstanding childminder, and we feel incredibly lucky that both our girls have her in their lives.
