Hello, I'm 56 and have over 30+ years of QUALIFIED nannying experience. I've also worked in various schools as a TA and as a LSA. Lots of special needs experience too.
I'm married to Simon (a retired police officer) and we have two daughters. One's a Geography teacher down in London and the other is in her second year of Uni, also training to be a teacher but in Primary Ed.
Originally from Amersham, Bucks, we moved up to Herefordshire in 2021. Loving the countryside and the slower pace of life.
My last nanny position finished in April 2021, just before we re-located. I'd been with the family for 4 years and I loved them. My references go back to the 80s - they read like a book!
I have a rolling DBS so I'm happy to give out the ID number so parents can check that I have no convictions. I can drive, and do not smoke.
I have just finished fostering a gorgeous little two year old whom we had in our home for two years. He has just gone to his forever family and he leaves with our love. We're thrilled for him and his new parents. I shall be wanting Sept -Dec off to get over our fostering journey - and to have a rest - but from January 2026 onwards, I shall be on the hunt for a new position.
I’m open to suggestions so please don’t be afraid to ask. Happy to do purely nannying roles or a little bit of housekeeping too - cooking meals for the family, light housekeeping (not cleaning), laundry, running errands etc. Happy to drive up to half an hour from Pembridge and do collections from schools - state, or private.
My Experience
Qualified as a nanny in the mid 80's and have decades of experience from new borns to secondary school age. I have a whole folder of references of which I'm very proud of. I also have worked in various Prep schools over the years. Prior to having children I Deputy managed (and then fully managed) a residential home for adults with learning difficulties.
My Qualifications
A good solid 2 year course and decades of experience and loads of references to match. Some of my previous "charges" are now fully grown men and women and are friends of mine. I pride myself that I'm still in touch with them and they are all very special to me. Some have children of their own now. I’m hoping to add my little foster child onto that long list of children I’ve loved and cared for.
