About Me and My Childminding Setting
After gaining valuable experience in both primary school and nursery environments, I completed my NNEB diploma at Blackburn College. It was during this time that I realised my passion lay in offering children a more flexible, home-from-home environment—one where they could enjoy the freedom of the outdoors while still feeling safe, secure, and nurtured.
Childminding gives us that freedom. On any given day, we might decide to explore Rivington, visit Martin Mere, or head to a local farm. Fresh air and nature are vital to a child’s development, and I believe so much learning takes place outside. We love being surrounded by nature, moving freely, and learning through real-life experiences.
My home is fully child-friendly, with all areas on the ground floor accessible to the children. We also have a large, secure garden and a summerhouse that the children can enjoy throughout the year.
While we embrace flexibility and outdoor adventures, I also believe that routine is important for young children. I provide a consistent daily structure, including healthy snacks in the morning and afternoon, and a nutritious lunch.
Watching children thrive, grow in confidence, and truly enjoy their day is my greatest reward. We regularly attend local playgroups and storytime sessions to support speech and language development, as well as social skills. We also meet up with other local childminders, giving the children the opportunity to build lasting friendships in a small, familiar group setting.
Living opposite a large park and play area, with access to open green space and large play equipment, gives us even more opportunities for active play and exploration.
I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework to guide each child’s development. This allows me to identify their strengths and support any areas where they may need extra help, ensuring they are ready for the next steps in their learning journey.

We have had Laura Harding as our childminder for our 2 children for a duration of over 6.5 years. Where do I start, she is an absolutely INCREDIBLE woman! She has helped to care, nurture and educate both our girls. They are thoroughly looked after by somebody who genuinely cares for them as if they were her own, they are educated with hands on play which is something that I have always wanted to prioritise and finally they always have lots of fun!
Laura takes them out on visits to farms, wetland centres, play areas, playgroups, have meet up's with other childminders and their groups of children. They visit library group sessions to help with speech and development, they visit shops and cafes to help learn about foods and buying from a list of items. They also have time in Laura's home and garden; drawing, sticking, colouring, painting and creating. They bake, use playdoh, water play, messy play - I don't know how she does it all! Her home is always a calm and welcoming environment, always clean and tidy and the children are always so happy to be with her. My children love to tell me everything they've been up to with Laura (or 'my Laura' as they affectionately call her).
Aside from being absolutely amazing with my children she has also been amazing with me. She has put all my worries at ease, which as an anxious parent has been immeasurable. She will happily update me throughout the day with messages and pictures of what my children are up to and will reply promptly if I have messaged for reassurance. I honestly could not of gone back to work after having both my children if it wasn't for Laura, she is truly one in a million.
If you're looking for childcare then Laura is your lady, you will not regret it!

My little boy has been going to Laura since he was 18 months old and he absolutely loves it! She creates such a warm and caring environment, it's like home from home but with all the extra fun and learning. My son is always coming home singing new songs or showing us the art work and crafting he has done. They have plenty of outdoor time too which my little boy craves, so I know Laura has everything covered to keep him occupied and exploring. I couldn't recommend enough we get updates and photos throughout the day of their adventures and nothing is ever any trouble. We love Laura and would recommend her to anyone who wants a friendly, fun, caring and supportive childminder.

Laura is just wonderful, she’s had both my little ones and they have both excelled in everything they do. She’s caring, warm and genuinely cares about the kids. They do plenty each day and are always on little adventures! My 2 year old loves telling me about his day. They’re always doing lots of reading and fun activities to help with their curious minds. Laura is very communicative and always updates me on their days with pictures and messages. Laura has helped my anxiety and worries with leaving the kids and has made us all feel safe and cared for. She’s an Angel and I couldn’t have hoped or wished for anyone better. My kids absolutely adore her.

I cannot express enough gratitude for our child's incredible childminder, Laura Harding. Her level of care, support, and kindness is beyond compare. From the moment we entrusted our child to her, we knew we had found someone truly exceptional.
The dedication she demonstrates in providing various enjoyable activities for children is remarkable. Every day is an adventure as she takes them to different places and engages them in a variety of activities. It's evident that she puts so much thought and effort into creating a stimulating and nurturing environment.
