The best nanny!

We had Fearn as our nanny for our son from when he was 8 months old until he was about 2.5 years old. She was absolutely amazing and a true part of the family during this time; we always felt confident that our son was in the best care when he was with her. The only reason we have stopped working with her is that it was time for our son to move full-time into nursery.

Fearn is a creative and engaging caregiver who kept our son intellectually and physically engaged in activities inside the house (like reading, painting, playing) and outside the house (including play groups, trips to the park, and music classes). She cooked him home-cooked meals, which were nutritious and varied, and was very diligent in making sure he was well-rested and napping appropriately for his age. She also made a huge effort to speak to him all the time, which really helped with his language development. She was very loving, warm, and affectionate with our son and they were really bonded from a very early stage - he still continues to ask about her today and misses her often, which shows how attached he was to her, and he is thrilled every time he gets to see her when she babysits!

Aside from her caregiving, she was also highly flexible, accommodating, super punctual, and was willing to work around our schedule and provide extra cover if we needed. She was never late to work, rarely sick, and we always felt like we could rely on her to help us out when we needed, and she would go above and beyond to make things work when we required extra help.

Finally, we also knew that she was taking the utmost care with him when they were out of the house; she was watching him carefully in any external situations, particularly around other adults, and we knew he was in safe hands when he was with her.

We highly recommend Fearn to any family looking for a nanny. She is a truly exceptional caregiver who will love your child as much as you do.

The best nanny, highly recommended!

Fearn came to our family in October 2019, when our daughter was 9 months old. She put children's happiness and safety as the priority, which contributed hugely to our daughter's character. Thanks for Fearn's caring, our daughter becomes a happy and confident pre schooler! The nearly 30 years' experience makes Fearn is familiar with the different desires and needs at different stages. At the first few months, she took our daughter to different baby music classes and soft play; when she turned older, Fearn registered more educated music class like Sparkysons and some other activities, to let her get involved to outside world and different groups of children. She read a lot to my daughter, very often I saw they were sitting together reading for hours! I am super glad that our daughter has good reading pattern which was introduced by Fearn. When our daughter went to the nursery, Fearn still looked after her two days a week. She helped our daughter to go through the settle period smoothly. She concerned about our daughter from her deep heart, she could identify the early indication of the mood change of our daughter. Once she expressed her concern about our daughter's attitude to the nursery, which pushed us to have a proper conversation and following up with the nursery, helped our daughter to overcome the difficulty time.
Fearn cooks very well. She pays good attention on the variety and nutrition of the food cooked for the little one. And these nutritious food are also tasty!
During the 2 years and 3 months she looked after our daughter, Fearn was never late, which was amazing! She also understood the pressure of being new parents, she helped me a lot to smooth my emotions. That's why we still keep communication frequently.
It was a heart breaking moment when our daughter knew Fearn was going to leave due to family reason. Few months thereafter, the little one still sometimes woke up in the middle night, crying "I miss Fearny......"
When I look back, we were very lucky to get such an amazing nanny. Our daughter's bright and happy character is partially shaped by her, which we always feel grateful!

Amazing nanny, highly recommended

We have had the pleasure of employing Fearn as a nanny for our daughter since March 2017. At the time Fearn started with us, our daughter was 8 months old and she is now 26 months. During that time, Fearn has worked either 4 or 5 days a week from 8am to 6pm - and often a little later. As I’m due to go on maternity leave, we’re sadly parting company with Fearn.

Fearn has had sole care for our daughter - as both my husband and I work full time. She has been responsible for ensuring our daughter is well fed three times a day; she takes her to a variety of classes and activities (many recommended by Fearn herself - as she has a great knowledge of them); goes on play dates with other children and nannies that she knows as well as doing activities with her at home. In addition, she always cleans up after our daughter and ensures that she always has clean clothes. In short - we will miss her a lot!

I would highly recommend Fearn as a nanny. She had built a great relationship with our daughter, who adores her - and she has become part of our family over the last 18 months. She has a very natural way with children and having had so much experience with looking after them, I’ve found her to be very knowledgeable and confident in her ability which further reinforces the ease children have around her. She is warm and loving to our daughter, ensures she is always active and engaged - with a variety of classes and activities (reading, playing in the park, going to libraries, museums and farms) and ensures she gives our daughter a variety of things to do as well as nurturing our daughter’s interests. We always come home to a happy girl and never have any issues leaving in the morning as she’s always very happy to see Fearn and looks forward to her days with her. As a parent, it’s always tough seeing your child ill but I’ve always been so relieved to know that she’s had Fearn to comfort her as she’s very loving and takes her to the doctor when needed. This is our first child and as such, I’m sure we exhibit classic first-time parent neurosis but Fearn has been very understanding - she has taken on board and fulfilled our wishes regarding her care. She has been patient both with our daughter and ourselves! Fearn is always incredibly punctual and reliable but on the other hand also flexible with staying later and covering extra hours when we require her to do so - including babysitting, getting her ready and then putting our daughter to bed.

Another family are going to be very lucky to have Fearn.

Amazing nanny - highly recommend

Fearn has been looking after our three children for the last three years – covering ages from newborn to 6. I would not hesitate to employ her again and highly recommend her.

Fearn has become part of our family and we are going to be very sorry when she leaves (only because our youngest has started nursery and Fearn would like longer hours than we can offer).

Fearn is warm, kind and brilliant with our children who absolutely adore her. She takes them to local groups and makes it her business to know which are the best ones. She takes them on trips and makes up activities for them – both after school and in the holidays. She organizes playdates and is well known in the area with the local nannies and parents. She is incredibly responsible and trustworthy and always has the children’s wellbeing and safety at the front of her mind.

In the house, she makes lovely meals for the children, does their laundry and keeps their rooms tidy and clean. She is a very tidy and organized person. She is very flexible and welcomes additional babysitting.

On top of all of this, we have thrown a huge curve ball at Fearn in that she started working for us to allow me to work almost full time. About a month into her employment, our eldest son was diagnosed with cancer and I stopped working. Throughout our son’s illness, she has been the most extraordinary support for our whole family – looking after the other children whilst we were in hospital and making sure life continued as normal for them as well as taking on duties well beyond her role to look after a very poorly little boy. Thankfully treatment has now finished and for the last year, Fearn’s role has returned to supporting me whilst I work again.

We will miss her terribly. Another family will be very lucky to have her in their lives. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you want any more information.
