About Me

Hi, I am 28 years old and have over 10 years experience working as a live in au-pair, live out nanny and casual babysitting. I am fun, outgoing, adventurous and reliable. I have done some travelling in the past but hope to one day convert a van a road trip throughout Europe! I love exploring new places, meeting new people and immersing myself in different cultures. I enjoy working with children especially in a close family unit as I hope to become like a big sister to them.

My Experience

My previous role was a live in au pair position for a family in New Zealand for 2 and a half year. It involved sole care of twins aged 18months and then newborn care. It was in a rural setting on a farm so being around animals is no problem. I cooked most meals for the whole family and managed the children's day-to-day schedules which involved planning fun activities as well as ensuring their safety. I also performed light housekeeping duties as well as helping with the family moving. I worked solely with the children but also worked well with the mum when she was on maternity leave. I loved this position and was very sad to leave due to my visa expiring.

I was a nanny/housekeep for 3 children aged 9, 6 and 18months. The position included all day care of the little one and school drop offs and pick ups for the older two. It involved childcare throughout school holidays as well. I regularly cleaned the whole house whilst also keeping on top of all kid related chores such as mealtimes and laundry. I worked here for 1 year and 1/2 and was very sad to say goodbye but thankfully do still keep in touch with the whole family.

I have worked as a live out nanny for 2 children aged 6 and 4 where I was just involved in before and after school care which also included drop offs and pick ups. This meant I was getting them dressed for school and providing breakfast and making sure we weren't late and then preparing dinner and keeping them entertained until their parents arrived home around half 6 ish.

I have been a live in Au-Pair in Sydney, Australia for 5 months with a family that had two young girls aged 3 and 4. My role in this family included weekday and weekend care involving sole charge, bath times and all meals.
Whilst working and living with another family in Melbourne for 2 months I was involved with the drop off and pick up of both girls at school, after school care, evening babysitting and school holiday care.
With both these families I did some housekeeping such as the children's washing, tidying and hovering and loading/unloading dishwasher.

I have also been lucky enough to go to America working as a camp counsellor for 3 months in California. I was in charge of big groups of children so have learnt to undertake big challenges whilst keeping a level head.

I have also done some work experience in a school for special needs children mainly focusing on autism. It lasted two weeks and being a teachers help ensured I was there throughout lesson times, lunch and break times as well as therapies. It was extremely rewarding and I learned a lot about patience and helping those who struggle with day-to-day life.
