Hi, I’m Becca, I’ve worked in childcare since 2013 after studying childcare and education at college. I have recently (Oct 2021) had a baby of my own. I’m loving the newborn stage, and I can’t wait to see how he grows over the coming months and years. It’s great to be able to experience it from a mothers view rather than a childcare professionals side.
Before having my little boy, I enjoyed spending my spare time cooking, baking and also enjoy socialising with friends. I am reasonably active and have enjoyed skiing since I was 13.
My Experience
I have many years experience working with children. I have worked in a private day nursery with the baby age group, ranging from 3months - 18months. I worked with this age group from July 2013 - August 2017. For the first 2 years, I was working as a qualified early years educator and between June 2015 and August 2017 I was given the position as the Room Manager for the baby room, which gave me more responsibility within the nursery setting.
In October 2017, I started my first nannying job, looking after twin boys, aged 1. In this role, I was responsible for the boys’ day to day care, ensuring they were engaged in stimulating activities including arranging days out and also activities within the home, providing nutritious meals and also nursery duties such as the children’s washing and keeping play areas tidy and safe. As the boys grew older, I loved taking them out to explore new environments and creating new experiences for them to enjoy including baking, messy play & venturing out in all weather. I was in this role for almost 4 years, until they started primary school and I went on maternity leave.
I have also had experience with other age groups whilst in a nursery setting and also during work experience whilst completing my training through college. I’ve babysat regularly for a few families that have children of varying ages. I have completed my paediatric first aid course and safeguarding course too. I have an up to date and clear DBS check and am OFSTED registered. I have a clear full driving license and own car.
