My name is Layla, and I am a registered childminder, rated as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted. I've been working as a childminder for over 24 years and am joined in this journey by my daughter Emma, who has been doing it for 15 years, and our assistant Annie, who has been part of our team for 10 years.
We pride ourselves on providing a welcoming, friendly and home-from-home environment. We are dedicated and passionate about creating a happy, loving setting for the children. Many of the children in our care have been with us since they were babies, including Emma’s son, and we maintain strong, supportive relationships with both parents and teachers to help meet each child’s individual needs.
I live in a 3-bedroom semi-detached house in New Eltham, where I have a playroom filled with a wide variety of resources to support the children’s learning and play. Our indoor activities include books, puzzles, arts and crafts, and much more to cater for a wide range of needs and interests.
Outside, we have a large garden with climbing frames, swings, scooters, bikes, hoops as well as sand and water play areas. We are fortunate to have private use of allotments at the back of our garden, where the children get to experience the joy and benefits of growing fresh ingredients, that we can then use in our home cooked meals. This compliments the seasonal fruit, vegetable and salad boxes that are freshly delivered every week, along with organic milk and eggs.
We like to get out and about with the children and often go to local playgroups, libraries, parks and music groups. We are part of both the National Trust and English Heritage so for special outings we like to take the children to explore new places, as well as Broadstairs Beach, forest schools, farms and nature reserves.
We are committed to creating a nurturing environment where children can thrive and explore, all while safely having fun!
We currently have full time and part time spaces available and accept government funding for all ages.
My Experience
We are fully committed to the safety and wellbeing of the children in our care. We hold up to date Safeguarding and First Aid certifications. We have extensive experience working with babies and children of all ages, including those with disabilities and additional needs, and are dedicated to offering tailored support for each child.
We are Pacey registered and our Ofsted inspection in November 2024 resulted in us being awarded the highest rating of ‘Outstanding’ for the quality of care and education we provide.
My Qualifications
All certificates are up to date. Emma has a GNVQ in Health and Social Care.
My Availability
Part-time and full-time available. 7.15am to 5pm working hours

- Childminding from £8.00 per hour
£70 full day £30 before and after school

- I provide drop offs and pick ups at Montbelle Primary School

From the moment I went to view this setting I fell in love with it and knew it was the place to send my little boy. He started in may last year and is thriving! Layla, Emma and Annie have been absolutely fantastic. I couldn’t have asked for more, I have always received pictures / voice notes throughout the days. He comes home telling me all about his day what he’s played, what food he’s eaten (all sounds delish). They also often take the children out for the day which is lovely, it really is a home away from home setting. Highly recommend!!

I had a 20 minute conversation on the phone all about their setting, our needs for our little one/which days etc. Arranged a visit but then was ghosted / ignored entirely and I’m not sure why or what I did wrong or to offend them. Setting looks nice from the photos though and the lady on the phone was pleasant to talk to. I’m baffled.

I could not be happier with Layla, Emma & Annie looking after my children. Everything is done with upmost care and the children are loved and have built a bond with all three childminders. Meals are cooked fresh daily and the children get lots of fresh air, the garden is unbelievable its like a park and there are lots of toys outdoor and indoor.
My little one started two years ago and was very quickly potty trained and no dummy, I was gobsmacked!
My other child began this year (age 1) and she is also very very happy there and her speech and independence has come on so much. I have recommended the setting to some friends very recently and there are 3 children there who are all also thriving.
Emma is an excellent communicator and we get lots of photos sent over and any information.
We get lots of their artwork and even presents from Layla & Emma, they are so kind & generous.
We couldn't recommend the setting more.

My 2.5 yo daughter has been attending this setting for close to a year now. From the first week she settled beautifully and looked forward to meeting Annie, Emma and Layla, who she calls her "friends". She waves me off happily at drop off and asks to go to "school" - seeing her so happy gives me such peace of mind! The setting itself is lovely, Annie, Emma and Layla are very warm and provide excellent care and my daughter loves all the arts and crafts she does with Layla! Would highly recommend.

My two children (2 and 10 months) attend this amazing setting.
They absolutely love going to Layla's, my two year old claps and shouts yaaay as we arrive. They also cry when I pick them up to go home as they have had soooo much fun.
Layla, Emma and Annie are lovely and they really do care about the children. They prepare and cook fresh meals every day and I love that we, as parents are updated on everything they have eaten throughout the day. Both my children have milk intolerances and they cater for this, which really puts my mind at ease.
I am sent photos and updates through out the day of my children and what they are doing which I think is fantastic as I then feel that I'm not missing out on them, even though I am at work.
They have a massive back garden for the children to play in, I would even say it's better than a park, the children love it.
I couldn't recommend this setting enough. Best childminders and an amazing setting. Thankyou for everything you do for my children.

We couldn’t be happier with Layla’s setting. Layla, Emma and Annie are incredibly welcoming and warm and we feel so lucky to have found them for our 20 month old twin girls.
Always quick to send photos and communication has been easy, making us feel so reassured! The girls seem to eat like horses and we love to hear about the different meals that they’re eating.
Layla’s home also has the largest most perfect garden we’ve ever seen and arguably better than most of the local parks.

My daughter has only been with Layla and her team for a short time, however they have been fantastic.
They made my daughter feel very welcome, and she settled in to a routine very easily with them. They offer a wide range of activities which my daughter has enjoyed.
The setting is wonderful, very spacious and allows the children to engage with a variety of different activities due to the amount of space available.
The setting is also well maintained, clean and very welcoming.
Layla and her team are fantastic and can not fault.

Layla (Emma and Annie) are an outstanding team of childminders.
My son started with them in Sept 2019, when he started at primary school. Since day one they have been so reassuring and loving toward my son and us as parents. They genuinely care for all their children.
Everything is so well organised and thought through. My son cannot wait to return when the world is in a more normal state.
I could not recommend them more highly, I’m very glad we found them, and our son will have the pleasure of being with them for the next 6 years.

My 2 year twin boys started with Layla 3 months ago and I am so happy we found them. They are so caring and passionate about children and you can feel the warmth and love they have as soon as you walk in. The house is immaculate and the grounds are incredible and back onto allotments so the children are growing and picking fruit and vegetables
Layla works with her daughter Emma and they are a great childminding team. There is lots of structure to the day with a variety of activities but they also have lots of time for free play. I also like the fact that often they will stay at home and play in the garden or do activities indoors rather than being rushed out all the time, but there are also plenty of educational and fun outings, so far they have been to the seaside, Knole park, Kent life Beaver World and various other locations.
Layla provides delicious home cooked and nutritional food and snacks throughout the day which the boys love.
Would highly recommend.

We have had our 2.5 year old daughter, Chloe with Layla, and her daughter Emma for the last six months - they have been brilliant. Chloe has loved going there, and misses them already. We have had to move her elsewhere due to a change in our job pattern, and were very sad to leave. They cook excellent nutritious food for the kids, with a good veggie option always available, and ensured the kids are out daily at various activities. We recommend them wholeheartedly.
