About Me
Hi, my name is Hilary and I live in Burnside with my husband Gary and 2 lovely sons Jack & David. I am fully committed to providing a safe, clean and welcoming environment to the children I care for. I will work along with parents to ensure we are all on the same wavelength as to their child's development, social skills, and general well being. I am an active person and have always fully encouraged my own children to play outdoors as much as possible. With this in mind I have a fully enclosed and secure back garden that has the latest child friendly artificial grass installed, surrounded by soft chip bark. It is perfect for all year round play and this allows the children to be outdoors when the weather permits, as much as possible. My garden also has a fantastic play hut along with a great range of outdoor play equipment. I have a large conservatory built which adds to the space available for play and recreation activities along with the whole downstairs area of my home. I live a 2 minute walk from Burnside station as well as the main bus route into East Kilbride and Glasgow. I attend the toddler group in my area as well as rhyme time at my local library
My Experience
I have now been childminding now for approx. 14 years and have formed great relationships with parents and children both past and present. I have been very fortunate to look after fantastic children and the experience, not only from being a mother of 2 children and coming from a large family myself, but also gained from looking after and helping develop other children, I believe stands me in great stead for doing my job.
My Qualifications
I am fully registered with Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland (SCSWIS) formally known as the Glasgow Care Commission.
I have attended various workshops with SCMA such as Child Protection, Healthy Eating, etc
I have a St.Andrews first aid qualification in baby & child care.

My Fees
- Childminding from £4.00 per hour
Full day care fees, along with before & after schools fees would be discussed at a home meeting, and are in comparison with the recommended SCMA guidlines. A welcome pack and a copy of my latest care commission inspection report as well as past & present questionnares from parents and children would be available. My daughter Mollie has been in Hilary's care since she was just 10 months old. Like all parents, I was anxious and unsure about handing my child over into a stranger's care. I needn't have worried, as Hilary quickly became an important part of our lives.
On a personal level, Hilary is a wonderfully caring individual who not only has an apparent love for children but a commitment to their ongoing development. She sees each child as an individual and takes an invested interest in their physical, emotional and behavioural development, providing both verbal and written updates to parents. She also completed a little journal each day so that I knew exactly what Mollie had eaten, passed, and taken part in during the day (including her nap times).
In terms of Hilary's approach, what I love mot is her focus on outdoor play (she has a wonderful garden with articifial grass, craft summerhouse etc.) and learn through play approach (she has reading time each day, helps them learn to tell the time, role play). I also loved that my daughter got out of the house on her days, attending local toddler activity groups. Communication is also important, and I always looked forward to my whatsapp pics of Mollie having fun.
Above all of this, however, I always knew Mollie was safe and cared for to the highest standard and went off to work with not a concern or worry.
Truth is, we are devastated to be leaving Hilary due to a home move. Mollie has a very special bond with her and I'm unsure we will be able to find a childminder as loving, invested and intelligent as Hilary. I would reccommend her to any parent.

Hilary is quite simply the best childminder ever. My son Luca has been with her now since January 2016, and she has been the most wonderful influence on our little boy. She has become part of our extended family and we absolute adore her. Luca looks forward to seeing Hilary, Gary and their two boys, Jack and David. He is always talking about them, and I couldn't have wished for a better home and family for him to be part of whilst myself and my husband go to work. I have never once felt anxious or worried, and feel comfortable in the knowledge that Hilary will take whatever step necessary to ensure Luca is well taken care of, and looked after. Luca is a very bright, happy and loving young boy, and whilst I am very happy to take the credit for this, I really do have to say honestly, that Hilary had had as much of a role to play in that as me.
