My Experience

My name is Kathleen and I am looking to work as a Nanny alongside my part-time role as a GP Receptionist. My aim is to provide professional, safe and joyful care for babies/children and to be a great source of support to parents ensuring they feel comfortable leaving their children in my care.
During Covid, I took the Pacey Home-based Childcare Qualification, which I enjoyed very much and want to pursue further.
I have brought up 4 wonderful children who are all now in their 30s. I've worked as a secretary for the NHS most of my adult life.
I have very good experience in looking after children through bringing up my own daughters also looking after my grandchildren when needed and friends and family's children who have refer to me as affectionately as 'Nanny Plum" as I enjoy nurturing those around me.
I have also volunteered for a number of years at a local garden nursery and up until a few years ago, volunteered at my granddaughters' primary school where I was involved with helping the year 1 and 2 children with English and also got involved in the gardening too.
Even though my primary background is within the NHS I also attained a degree in English Literature at 47 years old. A great personal achievement. I am interested in helping young people become excited about learning, exploring their potential through their interests, creative pursuits, activities including reading which is a passion of mine.
As a mother's help I cared for a little one year old girl for a year in Italy.
All childcare responsibilities including feeding cooking settling for bed reading stories.
I have helped support my daughter with my granddaughters. This included looking after my eldest granddaughter from 6 months old 2 full days a week from 7 am to 6 pm with tine with her doesn't at baby groups and having a good routine during the day including a daytime nap.
With my second granddaughter I looked after her one day per week while she was little. My granddaughters are now 12 and almost 9 and I still play an active role in their lives and support my daughter with their groups and taking them to school as
well as inspiring them to enjoy gardening.
My niece has twin girls who are now 6 and I have looked after then often during their lives.

My Fees

• Babysitting from £15.00 per hour
• Childminding from £15.00 per hour

I'm not certain what the current rates are but will get advice regarding this.
