About Me
I work along side my husband Paul. We have been both ofsted registered as good on our last Ofsted inspection this year. We have been childminders for 29 years and have also done respite care. We have looked after children professionally as young as 4 weeks old up until 11 years old. Our own 3 children have all left home and started families themselves. Our house has a play room purely dedicated for the children. We have a large secure back garden again full of toys and play equipment, such as climbing frame, musical instruments and sand table. In the summer we often have the water play out and do activities like brushing the dinosaurs teeth and washing the dolls. This also has a Wendy house with diner, flower stall and play kitchen We go on weekly trips on holidays to zoos, the seaside, cinema, experience restaurants, shopping and trampoline parks. I do learning journals for all children that attend. We go regular to soft play, farms, parks, woods, visit the library and attend a toddlers group twice a week. We do art and craft activities, messy play and help older school age children with homework and reading. We teach the children basic skills, help with potty training, simple numbers, letter sounds, shapes and colours. I meet up with my daughter almost daily who is a childminder In her own right and has her own setting so the children can all meet up and do activities as a larger group.
My Experience
Over 29 years of childcare experience. Respite care. Special needs with many children and parents. We were Welwyn and Hatfield community childcarer's when the scheme was used. Have been a mother for over 39 years and a grandmother for 10 years. I drive a 7 seater car which is insured for business. I attend regular courses along with my husband, we are up to date with all relevant courses like paediatric first aid, 30 free hours, child protection healthy eating, healthy child and the most recent WRAP and FGM. We have additional experiences and have looked after children with special needs such as asthma, epilepsy, type 1 diabetes, autism and adhd, I have also taken courses and have certificates for these too.
My Qualifications
I have the many years of experience of childminding as my qualifications as well as attending over the years many courses including 10 first aid courses including paediatric first aid 4 safe guarding courses, FGM, WRAP. I have all up to date certificates displayed in our setting.

I do have 1 time day space at the moment.

My Fees
- Childminding from £7.00 per hour
We charge from £7-7.50 per hour depending on requirements and provide 15/30 hour funded places to qualifying 2,3 and 4 year olds.
My Local Schools
- I provide drop offs and pick ups at Oak View Primary and Nursery School
