My Summary
About Me
Hi there, my name's Lyndsay. I’m a newly qualified paediatric nurse and have just got my first post working on a children’s ward. I love baking, cooking and getting out in the outdoors with my dogs.
I am an enthusiastic, warm and fun loving individual and I’m super keen to help people out by looking after their kids in my spare time. I’m engaged and in the middle of wedding planning and house hunting and so trying to put everything I save towards this. But more so, I love working with children and one of my potential career paths would be to go into health visiting when I have a family of my own. Babysitting would give me additional experience on top of my nursing working with a range of age groups and understanding their development as well as using play to develop their skills in a home setting, rather than when they are unwell in hospital.
My Experience
I have worked with kids all throughout my life having part time jobs which involved working with them. I have just completed three years at the university of Dundee doing a masters in children’s nursing and now I am a newly qualified nurse about to start my first post on a children’s ward.
I have good experience working in a number of different settings and working with a range of different complexities with children with complex needs to children who are acutely unwell, as well as children who are well and are just popping in for a check up. I have also over five months experience on placement in neonatal units working with preterm babies from the gestation of 28 weeks and term babies who need a bit of help before they get home. Alongside this I have baby sat family friends children and relatives.
My Qualifications
MSc in Children's Nursing from University of Dundee
BSc in Geography from Queen's University Belfast
Diploma in 'Nursing and Patient Care'
Basic Life Support (Adult, Child and Infant)
My Availability
As I am due to start a full time job with shift work nursing babysitting would have to be on a casual basis. However, I’d hope to build up a relationship with one or two families and regularly babysit for them a day or two a week if required.
