My Experience

I began my career in childcare in 2010, working full-time in a local nursery. It was during this time that I decided to pursue childcare as a long-term career and began working towards my Level 3 childcare qualification. I later continued working as bank staff at the same nursery, alongside gaining further experience as bank staff at another local nursery.

In February 2012, I joined Zoom Nurseries as a qualified practitioner. During my four and a half years there, I worked with children across all age groups and progressed into more senior positions, eventually becoming a Room Leader and SENCo. My responsibilities included planning and delivering activities in line with the EYFS, observing and tracking children’s development, writing progress reports, supporting colleagues with their planning and learning journeys, managing daily routines and helping to ensure each child’s individual needs and developmental targets were being met. As SENCo, I also gained valuable experience supporting children with additional needs and working closely with families and other professionals.

Alongside my role at Zoom, I began working as a part-time and weekend nanny in May 2012. I started with the family when their son was approximately three months old and remained with them until September 2016. I supported him from infancy through to the early years, including feeding, weaning, establishing routines, planning activities and outings, supporting his development in line with the EYFS and helping with learning and homework as he grew older.

When I left Zoom in September 2016, I moved into a nanny share position caring for four children. When I started, the children were approximately 10 months old, one year old and two four-year-olds. I was responsible for managing the needs and routines of children of different ages, preparing meals, completing school runs, organising activities and outings and supporting the older children with phonics, reading, writing and early mathematics. I remained in this position for one year.

In September 2017, I began a long-term nanny position caring for a four-month-old baby for three days per week. I stayed with the family until October 2020, when they relocated. During this role, I supported the child from infancy through the early years, including sterilising bottles, weaning, attending baby and toddler classes, organising regular outings and planning activities to support learning and development. As the child grew older, I also supported early phonics, letter formation and preparation for nursery.

Alongside this position, I also held additional part-time nanny roles, including caring for a two-year-old and four-year-old one day per week and working two days per week with a three-year-old.

From September 2021 to July 2022, I worked as a before-and-after-school nanny. My responsibilities included school drop-offs and collections, preparing healthy snacks, organising activities and outings, attending after-school activities and supporting phonics and learning.

In August 2022, I began working as an ad hoc and emergency nanny for a number of different families. This involved stepping into different households at short notice and quickly adapting to each family’s routines, children’s ages and individual needs. I regularly planned activities and outings, prepared meals and provided age-appropriate learning opportunities. I continued in this role until October 2023.

Alongside my ad hoc work, I began a regular nanny position in September 2022 caring for a one-year-old girl. My responsibilities included planning fun and educational activities, taking her to classes and groups and preparing meals. I remained with the family until September 2025.

In October 2023, I began another nanny position caring for two boys, who were aged approximately three and one when I started. This was a sole-charge role involving planning educational and age-appropriate activities and taking the children on regular outings including parks, libraries, soft play centres and playgroups. I remained with the family until July 2025.

In June 2024, I also began working with another family caring for two children, initially aged five months and four years. My responsibilities have included preparing formula and sterilising bottles, weaning, school collections, organising outings and planning age-appropriate activities. I initially worked with the family three days per week and, from May 2026, continued with them one day per week.

From March to June 2026, I worked in a temporary nanny position caring for a six-month-old baby. My responsibilities included following established sleep and feeding routines, supporting baby-led weaning, helping the baby adjust to bottle feeding and taking her to age-appropriate classes and activities.

In May 2026, I began my current position as a sole-charge nanny for two-year-old twins. I am responsible for their day-to-day care, planning fun and educational outings and providing a range of age-appropriate activities, with a strong focus on learning through play.

Overall, I have over 15 years of professional childcare experience across both nursery and home-based settings. I have worked with children from early infancy through to school age and have extensive experience of sole-charge nannying, nanny shares, caring for twins and siblings, working with babies and toddlers, nursery leadership and supporting children with additional needs. My varied experience has given me a strong understanding of child development, the EYFS, safeguarding, routines, learning through play and the importance of providing consistent, nurturing and individualised care.

My Qualifications

I hold a Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and a Level 3 Award in Preparing to Work in Home-Based Childcare.

I am also Paediatric First Aid trained and have completed additional training in:

I also have extensive practical experience of applying this training within both nursery and nanny settings.

• Babysitting from £20.00 per hour
• Nannying from £20.00 per hour (gross)
