About Me
I am 25 years old and currently working as a mental health nurse following completion of a learning disability nursing degree in January 2021. I am currently in full time employment but I am available most weekends and evenings. I have had training in all essential nursing skills and I have had experience working with children. Throughout my course, I have worked in many areas, including, a special school and a children's hospice working with new borns to young adults of all abilities and needs. I have previously worked in specialist child and adolescent mental health services and currently I am working with young adults. At the age of 23 I privately fostered a 15 year old Ukrainian girl who has now been living with us for 2 years and is planning her future with our family as her family are unable to leave her country. I am living in Aberystwyth full time. I have a full driving license and a car and own my house so would be happy to babysit here where necessary.
My Experience
I have volunteered in the Aberystwyth leisure center for the 'mighty ducks' disability group for children in the past whilst also babysitting close family friends. I am also very close to my nieces and have been responsible for their care many times. I have had an abundance of experience through placements and jobs working with children and adolescents which has developed my skills further. I spent 7 weeks in Birkett house school in Wigston on one of my placements which taught me a lot about children with disabilities and it was a very enjoyable experience, building relationships the individuals who attended this school. I have worked in a children's hospice and respite center which has taught me invaluable skills, and here, I cared for terminally ill babies as young as 20 days old. I then qualified and worked as a COVID vaccinator and then moved to specialists child and adolescent mental health services where my primary focus was with severe eating disorders, assisting with meal times and hospitality admissions. I am currently working as a mental health specialist with young adults in the community and I have been in this position for over 12 months. My best skill set is communication and patience, I am very talkative, sociable and adventurous. I have had training and experience in looking after all ages, with or without disabilities. I also speak basic Chinese and i am fluent in Welsh and English.

BSc University degree:
Learning Disability Nurse - qualified in January 2021.
Mental health specialism.
- All relevant nursing skills incl. Basic life support, moving and handling, anaphylaxis etc.
- CBT for eating disorders
