Hello everyone,
My name is Sophie and I am a childcare provider living in Earlswood, Surrey.
I currently provide ad hoc babysitting in Earlswood and the nearby area alongside my teaching assistant role in a local primary school, and I would dearly love to meet some more lovely families!
I am a naturally warm and nurturing person with a gentle nature who truly adores children; I am deeply passionate about childcare, and devoted to providing a caring, happy, enriching, fun, curious, inclusive and safe environment for children to learn and to grow, responding to their individual needs. With patience, empathy and understanding rooted at my core, gentle guidance, and clear, age-appropriate expectations set, I feel I create an embracing, encouraging, and positive space where children feel seen and heard completely, valued, and their wellbeing and self-esteem is truly supported. I appreciate each child for who they are, and I feel I am able to connect well with little hearts.

My Experience
I have twelve years experience of working in childcare and education, including as a teaching assistant, within nurseries, and independently as a nanny and babysitter, caring for children aged six months – seventeen years old. I have strong knowledge of child development, the EYFS and the national curriculum, secure safeguarding knowledge, experience of looking after and supporting children with SEND, and an understanding of children's mental health. Unfortunately, I don’t drive.

I hold a Level 2 qualification in childcare, I am paediatric first aid trained, and I am on the DBS update service.

Sophie was lovely, and I could tell from the emails that she would be a good fit for the family. She kept in touch with me and confirmed the sit was going ahead a few days before as well. As soon as I greeted her I knew the kids were in good hands, she was just so friendly and relaxed and completely unflappable. My little girl has been quite reluctant to leave my side recently and I spent a little time with Sophie when she arrived just to make sure the little one was not a ball of anxious tears when I left for my appointment. My older child (who is on the spectrum) also adored her, and most unusually for him, spent almost an hour playing with Sophie and his sister. I can't recommend her highly enough, I came home to two happy kids and won't hesitate to book Sophie again. As a bonus she washed up for me and kept everything so tidy Thank you Sophie, you were amazing!
