About Me
I love working with children and have done so for over 20 years since I was a teenager myself. I'm a very creative person and love being creative in play with the children I work with. Whether were doing an Art or Craft activity, Imaginary Play, Construction, I always try to make it as fun and exciting as possible often with an educational spin. I love singing, signing, dancing, playing and listening to music. Its extremely important to me to be out in nature as much as possible with children. I think it's so important for children to learn through play and exploration. I get great joy out of teaching children to be independent, confident, resilient people. I have a very relaxed, calm, happy, loving nature yet I think it important to have clear boundaries to make children feel safe. To be firm yet fair with the children and taking the time to explain why is very important. I have 2 boys of my own a 6 year old and 3 year which I’ve been signing (BSL) with since birth. It definitely aided speech early making both my boys great communicators.
My Experience
I have over 20 years experience working with children. I've been a nanny to over 12 families and babysat for many many more. I've worked in school settings and I am currently the Manager of an after school club. I have Experience working with children with learning and physical disabilities. Some of which include, Autism, ADHD and Deaf children and I currently look after a child's with multiple sclerosis. I have experience with babies too, the most recent baby in my care just turned 1.
My Qualifications
I have NVQ qualifications in Early Years and Education and also in Playwork. I have a Paediatric First Aid qualification, Child Protection, Food Hygiene and I also have an NVQ level 3 in BSL (British Sign Language).
My Availability
I'm available Monday to Friday.
My Fees
- Nannying from £15.00 per hour (net)
- Babysitting from £18.00 per hour
My Net Earnings will need to be at least £15-£17 per hour. If bookings are cancelled this agreed amount per hour will still need to be paid along with petrol/ parking money for any continuous driving.
