My Requirements

We are a warm, busy family with school age children and a large country home in Dorset. We are looking for a long term nanny housekeeper who will become a trusted, valued part of our household – someone who genuinely enjoys being with children and takes pride in a well run home. The role is 40+ hours per week, Monday to Friday and can be offered as live in or live out for the right candidate.

We’re a warm, busy family with four lovely children (9, 7, 5 and 3), moving to a beautiful home in the Dorset countryside (near to Shaftesbury) this summer. We’re looking for a kind, capable nanny housekeeper who would love to become a true part of our family life.

This role would suit a naturally nurturing, “mother hen” type—someone who takes pride in creating a happy, organised home, enjoys being around children, and brings a sense of calm, humour and positivity to each day.

The role blends childcare and household organisation. You’ll help with school routines, after-school care, and looking after our youngest, alongside keeping things running smoothly at home (laundry, tidying, simple family cooking and general organisation). We do have a separate cleaner, so this is about maintaining a lovely flow to the home rather than heavy cleaning. We would love someone who has experience as both nanny and housekeeper.

We’re very flexible and want this to work well for the right person. Hours are Monday to Friday (40+), with a mix of shifts across the week—for example, some days 7am–3pm and others 11am–7pm.

We’re also very happy to offer a live-in option from Monday to Friday, with comfortable accommodation, if that makes life easier.

Occasionally, we may need help with proxy parenting or overnight support when one parent is away, but this is always planned in advance.

Above all, we’re looking for someone warm, proactive, and dependable—someone who will genuinely enjoy being part of our home and helping our family thrive.
