About Us
Kingsway is a committee run pre-school. The staff are dedicated and highly motivated, working in partnership with parents to promote learning through play using a variety of resources and exciting, challenging activities.
We have 2 rooms. The main room is based in an upstairs hall and has a maximum of 26 children per session with 5/6 staff in attendance. Our 2 year old room adjoins the garden on a ground level and provides a smaller more homely room for a maximum of 8 children with 2 adults per morning session.
The age range of the children is 2 years to 5 years. Please see a member of staff for current fees for children not eligible for funding. Fees are payable half-termly or termly in advance.
We are registered with the Pre-School Learning Alliance and Southend Borough Council Early Years Department.

What do we do?
Exciting and varied activities are provided inside and out during free play in the first half of the session.
At approx 10.30am we have a circletime. At this time, we sing songs and have discussions with the group.Following this Children are offered milk or water, and a snack.
After circletime, we continue with free play before tidy up time and story/songs with the group.
Lunch for funded Children is at approx 11.45-12.15. Please come in and see us for more information on funded places.
The afternoon session upstairs follows a similar format to the morning with circle and snack at approx 1.30pm.
We arrange trips out to the park, library, beach, woods, fire station and invite visitors to come to us for activities, such as sport, yoga and music.
Registration
The pre-school is registered to accept children between the ages of 2 and 5 years. As part of our admissions procedure all children are required to have completed a registration form, paid the current enrolment fee and shown an original birth certificate.
Once the completed form and fee are received, your Childs details will be added to our list for a place when they are 2 years old.
Please be advised that whilst we endeavour to offer a place to your child at that time there may be a waiting list for places due to high demand.
We operate an open door policy for you and your child to drop in and visit Kingsway prior to their starting date.

Our Fees
- Childcare from £15.00 per morning
- Childcare from £15.00 per afternoon
Fees are payable in advance, either termly or half termly. We are able to accept childcare vouchers and are registered with tax free childcare.
2 Year Old Funding
If you believe you are eligible to receive 2 year old funding please come in to see us and we can make the relevant enquiries for you. Please bring along your National Insurance Number, Proof of yourhome address (i.e. A utility bill) and your Childs Birth Certificate. Alternatively see our website to find a parent link to apply for 2 year old funding.
3 and 4 Year Old Funding
Your child will be eligible for 15 hours of funding (5 sessions) in the term following their 3rd Birthday. Please note 5 funded sessions may not be immediately available and we will add your name to a waiting list for your choice of sessions.
30 hour Funding (For 3 and 4 year olds)
In addition to the universal 15 hours of childcare, some families may be entitled to claim 30 hours of Childcare Funding.
You will also be able to use the childcare calculator to check what help you could get with childcare costs.
Please note 30 hrs of funded sessions may not be available at the time you apply, in such circumstances we will add your name to a waiting list for additional sessions or you may split the funding with another provider.
