About Me

My name is Karen. I am 47 and a mother to 2 boys aged 25 and 16, so I have plenty of "hands on" experience! I have been CRB checked (enhanced). My home has been inspected by OFSTED and is a non smoking setting. I hold a full clean UK driving licence.

I work from my home in BR1. We are a small setting with emphasis on care over profit. We have a lovely garden and plenty of room to play in our playroom! I offer a very safe, caring and homely environment where children are well looked after and cared for, and given plenty of opportunities to explore and learn through play. We love to play outside whatever the weather. All meals are home cooked using organic local produce.

I have extensive experience with SEN Children. I implement a Gentle Parenting approach in the setting

Home away from home with Karen

5 stars

Karen has looked after out little boy since he was 7 months old and has porvided a nurturing environement for him to grow up in. A real home away from home. There's nothing quite like seeing your child happily wave goodbye to you as he goes off to childcare for the day, thank goodness there's no tears and he truly loves being at Karen's.

Found Karen approachable on all subjects, willing to deal with all of our requests (bottle feeding my brestmilk, logging feeds/sleeps etc on an app for us, cloth nappies). The garden playroom is lovely. She provides nutritous meals (for those big enough to eat it), she threw him a mini party on his birthday - we couldn't ask for more for his care.

We really cannont recomend her enough.
