Postnatal Personal Trainer

My Experience

I currently work clinically within an NHS Hospital in the maternity unit as a Maternity Care Assistant, where I rotate across Antenatal, Maternity A&E, Labour Ward and Postnatal care.

In this role, I work as part of a multidisciplinary maternity team, alongside midwives, obstetricians, paediatricians, doctors, consultants and other specialist healthcare professionals. My working environment also brings me into contact with theatre and wider clinical teams, including anaesthetists and surgeons, when women require operative or specialist care.

For complete transparency, I am not a registered midwife, registered nurse or other clinically registered healthcare professional. I do not diagnose, prescribe, provide medical treatment or practise outside my role, training or qualifications.

What I do have is valuable clinical awareness and experience of working within an NHS maternity environment. I understand the importance of professional communication, confidentiality, safeguarding, escalation and working within clearly defined boundaries.

When working privately with families, I remain firmly within my scope of practice, providing experienced, practical and compassionate newborn and postnatal support while working appropriately alongside the family's own healthcare professionals.

This experience allows me to recognise when something may need further attention and, importantly, when it is appropriate to seek advice or escalate a concern to the relevant healthcare professional.

I particularly enjoy helping parents find their confidence during those first weeks at home — whether that means establishing a manageable routine, supporting feeding, settling a baby overnight, or simply giving parents the opportunity to sleep and recover.

My Availability

I offer flexible one-to-one postnatal and newborn support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including daytime, overnight, weekends and bank holidays.

I work 12-hour shifts, allowing me to provide consistent, uninterrupted support and to build a strong, trusting relationship with your baby. This continuity is particularly valuable during the early weeks, when babies benefit from familiar care and parents are establishing their own rhythm and routines.

A 12-hour shift also gives me the time to properly understand your baby's individual needs, cues and patterns and, where appropriate, work with you to establish and gently implement a routine that suits your family.

Whether you need daytime support while you recover and settle into life with your newborn, or overnight care so that you can rest, my aim is to provide calm, consistent and reassuring support throughout each shift.

My current experience within an NHS maternity unit, combined with my private maternity and newborn experience, means you have an experienced and reassuring pair of hands supporting you and your baby when you need them most.

My Fees

• Maternity Nursing from £20.00 per hour (gross)

Please note that the hourly rate is a gross, all-inclusive rate. It covers all associated costs, including petrol and commuting expenses, VAT, service charges, insurance, and travel time calculated door-to-door.

The purpose of the deposit is to protect both parties against last-minute cancellations. It allows me to remain exclusively available to your family for the agreed period, while your home environment remains calm and collected.

Equally, this arrangement ensures continuity of care for your little one, providing consistency and reliability throughout the booking.
