My Experience

In October 2017, I flew out to Australia to work as an au pair for a lovely family with two very energetic boys ages 2 and 4. Since then, I spent a year at home working for two wonderful families as a full time nanny. My responsibilities included; taking the boys to daycare, driving them into the city, playing with them, preparing meals and maintaining a tidy house.

I have been a member of the Girl Guiding Association since I was 5 years old, and for four years, I volunteered weekly as a Young Leader at Rainbows. Through following instructions from other leaders, and managing the 5-7 year old girls myself, I have gained responsibility and respect as an authoritative figure.

Through the work experience I gained at a Montessori nursery, I have learnt the importance of having a calm and patient manner with children, yet to be authoritative when required. I also have many years experience babysitting for families with children of varying ages. This has involved playing games, organising and serving meals, helping with school work, reading bedtime stories, preparing the children to get ready for bed and comforting them if they wake.

I have also previously been asked to mentor a troubled 15 year old girl who suffers with emotional mental health issues. I was required to provide reliable and regular weekly support as a companion, role model and someone to talk to, especially when she feels vulnerable.

I would hope to bring this experience into a warm, friendly family with a child or children who enjoy both indoor and outdoor activities.

My Qualifications

Currently studying my MA at University. I have GCSE’s, A-level qualifications and an undergraduate degree.

• Babysitting from £12.00 per hour

Evening rates (bedtime onwards) £10.00 per hour
Daytime rates £12.00 per hour
